I have increased the brightness in PP little bit.
My picture may not be as bright and colorful as some other images of this particular event, but honestly that wasn't really my intention.
My intention was to make it as close to what my eyes have seen as possible.
This picture is one of two, maybe three that came out ok.
Thank you for your kind comment!

I just learned this trick, one leg shorter, from another thread here on UHH.
I think I have read it earlier today.. π
This is what it looked like.
This is how I ended up doing it with my D5500. Made one leg short, let it stick out flat and lean the tripod on it. That + gymball head + articulated display.
I would like to thank everyone for stopping by and for all your kind comments.
This picture was taken in Chicago area where the weather gets bitterly cold these days. I only stayed out for about 45 min or so and took maybe 40-50 pictures, most of them blurry and then the moon started to disappear in the clouds.
I wish I had more good ones to work with and maybe try some stacking in PP.
I had to go really slow with the shutter speed, because that red-ish tint made the moon really dark for the camera and going any higher with the ISO never ends up well with this camera's noisy sensor, but on the other hand, as a side effect, the slow shutter speed allowed me to capture the stars.
Making one leg on the tripod short was kind of a risky workaround, but it helped a lot and YES I LOVE the articulated touchscreen display especially on nights like this. It was not my priority when buying the camera, but I appreciate it now. It makes taking tricky angle photos in many situations so much easier.
A few stars visible in the download.

Black Sabbath again? π
Great! There is a way to get pretty close when it's not too wet. Those adults or at least one of them look like those from last year to me.
Big THANK YOU to everyone for stopping by a leaving your kind comments!
