I'll throw out a guess and say that you are shooting in Auto. Start learning to
shoot manual which will most likely involve upping the shutter speed like
others have suggested. Dark places and fast action is a challenge for auto
as it doesn't know the speediness of your subject.

This ad is worded poorly, as the many comments have also stated. It will confuse buyers, when
I first ran through the ad I thought it was odd to make a comparison to an f2.8 version.

I have used the Tamron G2 on my Nikon and it's excellent. The 2.8 is
really nice to have (mainly indoor sports usage), I also have used it with the 1.4 tele and that's great
also! Given that you already have a 70-200 covered have you thought
about going long and getting the G2 Tamron 150-600? Same price
and gives you reach for wildlife, then use what you already have
for landscapes - f4 is just fine for that.

I have a Canon Pixma Pro-100 which can print 13x19, it's excellent!
Very inexpensive if you watch for the 250.00 rebate it had on it, included
paper and generic cartridges work fine. I get mine from inkjets.com and
for 43 bucks for a set of 8 you can't beat it.

I can confirm that the Tokina is a great lens - built like a tank, sharp and great for a crop sensor
d7200, which I have. Also will work on a d750 with minor vignetting under 15mm. I use
it for astro and tight quarters. You should be able to find it for around 250 used.

My two cents? Just find a used d7200 with an 18-140 walk around lens
and the 105 f2.8 macro. You won't be disappointed, it will be a better
camera and probably less money. I wasted some time going through
the 3000 bodies and then 5000 only to find the d7200 is where it's at.

You are at good settings, best way from here is to shoot RAW and do editing
in Lightroom or other program. With your iso at 5000 already, that is maxed,
you don't want to slow the shutter speed, if anything it needs to be bumped
at bit faster depending on what you want to capture. Is the M focus mean
manual focus? If so you are really taking on a challenge in sports!
I switched from my D7200 crop to a D750 full frame for indoor sports similar
to your conditions (volleyball) and the quality is tremendously better at the
higher ISO's. My personal rule also is that proper exposure trumps low ISO
for picture quality.

If given the opportunity to attend an Honor Flight event, please do so. It's very moving, showing every possible emotion all at the same time. This is Charlie Walton, embracing someone he's never met before, clearly moved by her and the thousands of others showing their support Saturday night. A quote from a Facebook post on this photo - "When it's real, you can see it. This is about as real as it gets. This is also how the healing process moves forward. Letting down his defenses and embracing those powerful, long pent-up emotions." -Alvin Flowers

Shot while attending the Honor Flight this past weekend at General Mitchell International Airport
in Milwaukee. What a wonderful day for these men and women who served us so proudly.

I am glad to see you enjoyed shooting volleyball, it's an excellent and
exciting sport to watch and photograph! My daughter has been playing
for quite awhile and I started shooting her team about 4 years ago. Please
read these posts in the Sports Photography section. These have helped
quite a few shooters now. Very quick advice, get close and focus on
one player or type of play at a time. Learn the flow of the game
and make your settings during the warm ups. Shoot the jubilation
coaches and bench players for a full feel of the match! Good luck and have fun!

I have a D850 and would like opinions on what combination of lens/teleconverter/image area I should use to get the best result. My longest lens is a Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8. Today I took some test shots of a street lamp outside the house, first with the lens only @ 200mm using the FX image area. Then I shot the same scene using the DX crop image area. And finally I shot it again using DX crop and a TC-200 teleconverter. I cropped the resultant images so that the lamp was the same size and was surprised that I couldn't pick between any of the images. Or is that what I should have expected? Should I have shot using the FX image area and the teleconverter to improve things?

I get great results on my D7200 with a Tamron G2 150-600. I also have the
1.4x teleconverter but mainly use it in really bright sun only and not for really
fast action. If given the time I will shoot my subject with both, and pretty
much like the quality without the tele. Getting closer is the best option!!!

I wonder if these are the same ones? This is May 26th and taken
from really far away.
