I asked this before but I had deleted the recommendations. I would like to get advice for a printer that does prints larger than the standard 8 1/2 x 11 sizes.
I have a Canon Pixma Pro-100 which can print 13x19, it's excellent!
Very inexpensive if you watch for the 250.00 rebate it had on it, included
paper and generic cartridges work fine. I get mine from inkjets.com and
for 43 bucks for a set of 8 you can't beat it.

I've had the Canon Pro-100 (mentioned by previous posters) for over 3 years now. At one point I didn't use it for about 6 months. Unlike the previous printers I've had, the head has never clogged. Some will disparage it for using dye ink, but Canon's ink technology has achieved a high level of permanence, I haven't had any problem with prints fading. And as mentioned, buy it when the rebates are active. I got mine for $99 after the rebate, and it came with a full inkset. I have found that it seems to work best with the Canon papers.

I have an EPSON SureColor P800, which does 4x6 all the way to 17x22. It produces OUTSTANDING results. The main drawback is it uses 8 inks (9 including matt black) that cost $54 each from B&H. But I buy them one or two at a time and the damage isn't so great!
What's your budget, what's the max size and how often will you be printing these larger sizes. Are looking to sell these prints. If you're printing just once a week go to a outside source, because the printer will use more ink keeping it self clean. Printing larger sizes I would recommend profiling paper and monitor which is an added cost. At home I have a Canon PRO-1000 and a iPF-8400 and at work I use a Canon PRO-1 and a PRO-10. These printers I profile with a X-rite i1 which I can also profile the monitors. I print a least once a day with the PRO printers and a couple times a week on the iPF printer. What it really boils down to is your budget and what you are looking for as the finial results. These I consider are great printers and give me professional results. I am not a professional photographer just a hobbyist who plagued with "If you are going to do, do it the best you can"

Agree with Dirtfarmer. Unless you're planning on printing lots and lots of prints and need to do them in a hurry, like within the hour, you're better off at Walmart or Walgreens, etc.
I have a canon Pixima. It uses 8 ink cartridges. It prints up to 13 x 19. Uses photo paper. The print quality is unbelievable. Ink is expensive. Paper isn't cheap, but the results are worth it.
