The new Adobe Lightroom CC was released today and the pricing is $9.99 per month. The Classic version is also still available. Looks real good. Check Creative Cloud for the update.

Apple computers are overpriced and under powered. I agree the best way to go is with a high end tower that has room to expand, which you will want to do. The new Intel I9 series processors are out and there isn't an apple out there that comes close to the speed of these new Windows computers. I built my own with 64GB of memory 2 Samsung SSD running in raid 0 2 Evga 1080gtx Video cards running in SLI mode, which is a must if you render video, and 6TB of internal storage and 8tb of external. I'm sure you checked on line and found a ton of very nice tower pc's that will grow with you. You won't be sorry going with a Windows machine.

Video is fine and I use both video and the book version. I use video to decide if I want to purchase the software and it has saved me money in the past and a book if I want to take my time and really get into a subject. It's nice to have a book as a quick reference and you can learn the topic at your pace not the presenters when you are working on a project. An index is an invaluable and quick tool when you forget how to do something. Photoshop and Photoshop Elements are very different programs. The best thing is to use all the sources available.

Go into settings click the gear icon that appears when you click the white MS window at the lower left of your screen. When the windows setup screen opens click on "Windows update"and that will take you to the update screen. In the column on the left side of the update screen, click on "troubleshoot" and when that screen opens click on the windows update tool at the bottom of the first list. Follow the prompts and it will guide you through the update repair process.

I agree. I think MS has done a good job with Windows 10 and they are continuously adding new features. In fact the Creative Fall edition will be released next month and there are some neat upgrades, for free mind you. Windows 10 for me was like getting a new camera I wondered why I spent all that money on a new camera only to discover that it fell short of my expectations, but when I took the time to discover what the new camera would really do. I then thought I was a genius to upgrade. Take the time to find out what the new features are including Solitaire and I think you will form a more favorable opinion.

Try compatibility mode as mainshipper suggested. Just right click on the program select compatibility and select the software you were using ie windows 8.1. It doesn't always work but it's worth a try.

I agree we but we all make mistakes. If you are striving for perfection you better check your own sentence structure.

Intel has I9 cpu's now. The I7 are obsolete so the retailers are getting rid of them. Hence a lower cost.

If you have the install disk use it to run a repair on the installed version. I'm sure you know where to go considering you built the computer, but FYI just before it wants to reinstall the software at the bottom of the screen in small letters it asks you want to run a repair. Try it it won't affect your programs or saved files. Just a thought.

If you are just looking for more speed update your hard drive to ssd and you will see a very nice uptick in speed and for way less than the price of a new computer. If the old computer goes south use the SSD in a new one.

The consensus so far seems to be you take photo's for yourself and it doesn't matter what others think. However when you look at the large number of images uploaded everyday it appears there are many photographers displaying them for others. They probably are not willing to admit their real motivation which is to elicit some positive feed back and not necessarily for educational purposes.

I think it is short sighted to think that MP or sensor size is enough. It may be for what we are trying to do now, but what about the future? Mega Pixels sell and research needs the money to invent innovate and ultimately take humanity in a direction we can't imagine. I would like to have the ability to view my images in a life like hologram in the middle of my living room or to instantly send it over the airways. Innovation stops when the incentive to create ceases. I can't even imagine where we would be if we all adopted the attitude "Its good enough" or "its all I need". Bill Gates once said I can't imagine a case where we would ever need more than 16 MB"s of memory, really, Thanks Bill for not buying into that one. For me it's "never good enough" or "it's all I need". I want to keep dreaming about what may be coming next and how I may use it. It's called living life and I can't wait.
