Being new to digital and doing PP I purchased Photoshop Elements 15. Now I need instruction on using it. Can anyone suggest a book that is written in terms that are easily understood (I have thought possibly Photo shop for dummies?)
Thanks for any help - all is appreciated.

There are many available. However, before doing that, open PSE 15 and click on Help (top). Inside are quite a few areas you might try before a book. YouTube is also available. Just use the YouTube search and you'll find tons of material.
Good luck,
Mark

I am sure there are a lot of books out there but I don't recommend any of them, I tried many of them with limited success. Video's are much more productive, they tell you how to do things and show you at the same time. You can spend a lot of time with youtube bouncing around from one subject to another but if you want to learn in a more progressive manner (from the basic's to the advanced) you might consider internet sites like Lynda.com. A basic subscription is $25.00 per month and you can quit any time. After spending months trying to learn Photoshop by book, I subscribed to this site and after spending about 30 minutes per night in about three months I became a real pro on this program. It worked for me and it may work for you also. Good luck

Start by googling help on PSE15 and there is a lot of video tutorials on how to get started. I'm sure there is a series of at least 10 to get you started that are easy to follow.

Exactly. I have no idea why people want books on how to use Photoshop when videos allow you to actually see what is going on.

Do you realize, Photoshop is way different than Photoshop Elements? You should be looking for something specific for Elements!

Because for many people, it is a lot easier to learn from books, than from videos!! Also, books go way more into detail and explain a lot more!

There might be many reasons. Vision and hearing issues, poor presentation, accents of the presenters, ...

I prefer books that way I can do what ever process while reading it. Not watching and then try to remember all of the steps necessary.

Consider beginning with the "Quick" level of PSE 15. It's only a click or two for improving an image. After playing and becoming comfortable, you may then play with the "Guided" level. Don't be afraid to just jump in and try. That is how I learned to process photos. Eventually I graduated to Photoshop, and other post processing software. You can't hurt anything. If you click on "Help" in PSE 15, try running through the "Getting Started". It's easy to read and might be just what you need for a gentle "nudge". With all that being said, maybe a book is a first start for you.
Mostly, enjoy the learning. It's a cool journey!

I purchased "The Missing Manual" and was able to master the program by working through the book. I started with Elements 13 so that was the book I used but they probably have the same book for later versions. I found the book to be reasonable easy to understand.

That makes no sense. How can it be easier to NOT see what is going on?

If you have vision issues than a video would be far superior to a book.
