Had I known about the MD, I'd probably have opted for that. The MD's close to the experience of having to develop your film and make contacts before "seeing what you've shot," but easier. Just load it into my Mac and take a peek. Which works for me, though honestly I can well understand that for most this would seem impossibly retrograde.

My M-262 at least has no video, or LV capacity, and while it's dimensionally slightly more robust than my old M4-P or the new M-10, it's still far less to carry while working an assignment than one of the big Nikons. And, like the M-246, far easier and less obtrusive to work with on the street.

In the end, it's all about what suits your particular photographic style, needs, and capacity. We live in a time of seemingly unlimited photographic equipment choices, In all candor, I envy those who can use all the current technology. But mastering the menu complexities of a computer that makes images wasn't in my current incarnation's pay grade. Next time, hopefully?

Thanks. I'll keep making the effort. So far, however, my efforts with Light Room using my M 262 haven't shown the same look or quality of the images I've shot with a friend's Monochrom.

Thanks, Asiafish. That's been my impression as I've studied a range of Monochrome images by shooters such as Mathieu Bitton and Craig Semetko. I'm an old film shooter, but new to digital photography and there are any number of subtle differences and distinctions I've yet to learn to appreciate, let alone understanding the vast array of wonderful digital equipment available and the level of overwhelming sophistication. Frankly, I'm jus not smart enough to figure out how to use one of today's Nikon's or Canons. M-series Leicas may be expensive, but they're relatively simple.

Thanks. With time being a factor and being new to Lightroom and digitally dyslectic developing a greater level of skill may be beyond my time constraints.

I have an M-4P, and two other older Ms. Unfortunately my contract stipulates digital.

Have been a rangefinder user for more years than I care to admit. Let me know if you're interested in exchanging for a new M-262.

The best photographs deal in vanishing moments. Birds in flight epitomize such moments. cl/

Yes, well, the world it seems, has no shortage of competing crooks. No nation or region is currently undergoing a crime-deficiency that I'm aware of. Remain alert, keep passport, as and cameras or or with you. Research and take the best precautions you can, and hope your luck and the odds hold.

As a publisher and a former copy editor who deals daily with the importance of trademarks, logos and distinctive graphic images, my first impression is that your second monochromatic image is strongest, with this recommendation:

In the immortal words of the 20th Century poet, e.e. cummings, when asked if he'd 'd hit a woman with a child, he replied: "Hell no! I'd hit her with a brick." So you might want to ask yourself just what is your "brick?" And how do you hit your particular customer base with that "classic brick?" In other words: in a single word-image what is it you want them to immediately grasp, understand and know without even having to think?

While drone imaging may be what you're seeing as your current specialty, the camera is your "tell-all" symbol. As a professional photographer in years to come, you may eventually work without using a drone, and you will surely incorporate many new technologies in your work as they come into use. But the camera, in whatever iteration it morphs into, will always be your primary tool and it's thus a good thing to emphasize this as you refine and select your logo. We don't need hands around your symbolic camera to ascertain its function, that's always an association everyone all ages and in all walks of life can glance at and understand. However, at least in my case, the drone image took a moment to register and interpret. That's a factor you want to avoid. A realistic guideline is to keep your logo clean, simple, immediately communicative and understandable.

Hit 'em with a brick, kid.
