I just went to amazon to get the deal, which I did & by applying for their amazon card, I got $10 off my order...which included only the batteries...got them for free with free shipping! Now that’s a deal right there!!

So PLEASE set up a secure network in the camera first before using WMU.

Good luck.[/quote]

How do you set up a secure network in the camera? I know when I use the app that it says that the network is unsecured, but I don’t know how to change that! Thank you!

I have IPhone 6 Plus and it works great. But sometimes I forget to go to settings and choose WMU for connection. Other than that I don’t know why it doesn’t work.

Yes, when I use my iPhone 6+ it’s a bit of a roundabout to connect and sometimes I have to go through the process a couple of times before I can get it to work, the WMU app seems to work better with my iPhone 7+, not sure why, but it connects faster and seems like fewer steps to get there. Wish they would update the app so the process would be smoother!

I have the D7200 and when I had my iPhone 6+ I had to go into my phone and turn on airplane mode, go to the camera and enable wi-fi (and wait for the wi-fi signal to show up) then back to the phone and turn wi-fi on (and make sure it showed connected to the camera) then go to the wmu app and then I could view pics on the camera or use it to control the camera...roundabout way but it worked. Now with my iPhone 7+ I just have to go to settings and make sure the cameras wi-fi shows up and select that then I can go to the app, seems that it connects faster. It does disconnect itself if not used for few minutes!

Great, Thank You. I was looking at refurbished glass from Nikon and the 50mm did catch my eye.
Thanks again

I also have the D7200. I purchased the 35mm 1.8 several months ago, it has not left my camera since. I still love my 18-140 but in low light the 35mm is better. I am now looking at getting a 50mm 1.8G to use as a portrait lens. I had thought that the 35 would be a nice portrait lens but I have now been told that with the 35 there is distortion and that either the 50 or 85 is the way to go. The 50 1.8G refurb at Cameta is $164 and I am learning in that direction. I am posting a picture taken with the 35 for you to see what the 35 can do. You do have to get closer to your subject, this is also cropped, but gives you an idea! Good luck with your decision!

I have a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 that is sharp and I find I use quite a bit.

What camera do you use your 50mm on? I have a D7200 and am thinking about getting the 50mm 1.8G. Have heard so many good things about it, I have the 35mm and love it but wanting something that is better at portraits, some say 50mm and some say 85mm, so I am trying to make up my mind, but leaning toward the 50mm since for indoors if I don’t have a lot of room to back up!!

Maybe I missed something but to my iPhone 7 Plus stopped filling the screen in landscape mode photos, was this a stupid Apple update? Or have I accidentally turned off some setting?

I have the iPhone 7 Plus and I don’t see any difference in the landscape photos I have taken from my iPhone 6 Plus. I have updated to the iOS 11.0.1 & I believe the half inch blacked out on either side has always been there! It is where your info is when you tap on the picture.

With all the warnings about possible damage to my eyes and camera, I have decided to play it safe and shoot the eclipse at night when I don't have to worry about the sun.

Nice capture! Sometimes you just have to thank your dog when they get you up too early, but you get some nice photos from that disruption to your sleep!

Was given one and it is Sharp but being fairley new to more serious photography, what is this lens best suited for? I shoot dx cameras, D3200 and D7200.

I just bought the 35mm 1.8 last month for my D7200 and was at first disappointed in it, but with help from all the hoggers that replied to my post, I have come to love this lens! I have pushed myself to leave it on my camera and use it, I have used it for many types of shots. I have found it to be very versatile and great in low light! All of these were taken with no flash and were all handheld. The last 2 were at the Seattle Aquarium which is very dimly lit inside.
Push yourself to use it, you won't regret it! You will learn to zoom with your feet, as I did!
