Spotted this paper wasp nest under the eves of my house. I was going to
get rid of this nest but after taking a few shots decided to let them be.
Should be interesting to see what comes next, little wasps.

Interesting. Shows the cell shapes quite well.

Thank you Glen, the three adult wasps have been very busy, they sealed
off two more compartments this afternoon.

Thank you Erv, glad you are feeling better. I was thinking of trying
my 24mm f/1.8 so I could get closer than 3 feet and more DOF.

Nice shots.

What comes next? Probably the sting.

Thanks for taking a look Jay. Been stung before by yellow jackets, bee's, spiders.
These paper wasps are very docile. If you don't attack them or their nest they will
leave you alone, so far. I've been using my speed light which doesn't bother them.

Thank you PeggySue. I've been trying different setups and the D800E with
a 105mm macro and SB700 speed light appears to be a winner.

I know--been there. Paper wasps are pretty docile.

Excellent series. Can hardly wait to see what happens next. I hope you are able to capture the rest of the sequence.

Thank you Tikva, I'll be getting shots daily and post some of interest at later date.
I'll try some with my D500 and the 105mm F/2.8G and a SB700 speed light.
