Hi,

I am in need of calibrating my monitor. I use two, both ViewSonic. I am trying to decide between the Datacolor Spyder and the X-rite Color Munki. The customer review for the Datacolor Spyder mentions problems with the OEM software that is included and suggest 3dr party solutions.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. I read UHH daily and really enjoy the conversations and information. Thank you to all in advance.

Just checked my D7000, 4045 clicks so far. Camera Shutter count says I have used 3% of my camera's expected life. Thank you to all for making this information available. I learn something everyday when reading the Ugly.

Hi, I posted the original question and after some research bought the Altura flash you recommended. $60 with free shipping from Amazon. Works perfectly on my D7000. I am sure that there are units out there that may have additional functions, but I am primarily using it indoors for family shots and often on a tripod. Thank you for the recommendation. I think the "Ugly" is a great place to learn and explore the full range of photography. I really appreciate everyone's opinions and input. I read the postings everyday. Thanx again,

I had the same problem. 64G card in my D7000. Turned out my HP computer's card reader is old enough to not be able to read that size card. Went to staples, bought a $25 USB card reader, (there are several options) and wha la, card can be read.

I dropped my 18-270 Tamron still attached to my D7000. Camera was OK, lens would no longer lock and was "loose". Tamron fixed it for ~$200 over a year ago. No problem with the lens since. They gave me a quote over the phone of $200-250 depending on the repair. I have had the lens for many years and paid >$600 when I bought it new.

Thank you for the responses and help. I am going with the Altria Photo AP-N1001 after reading the links that were sent. I really appreciate the information and support. This is a great website/blog.

New to the ugly... I would like recommendations for a flash unit to pair with my Nikon 7000. Mostly for indoor family photos with a 35 mm 1.8 lens. Thank you in advance for your help.

My first camera was a Conica C35. I took many photos with it while in Viet Nam with good results. I would have preferred my current Nikon 7000. As others have said, use what you have and strive to improve yourself. The equipment is a constant, you are the variable.
