Somewhere I got the idea it was possible to rig a digital camera, in this case a Canon SX10, to an iPadII to get a better idea whether an image will be satisfactory. I'd like to do this in my woodshop and other sites where there is no LAN ( local area WI-fi network)

I ordered a cord from Flash Zebra which I imagined-supposed-misunderstood would make the connection but when it wouldn't fit my iPad II, I learned I'd ordered a cord with a 4 pin computer end but that the iPad's only USB connection is a much broader, thinner USB data/charging port that appears to have or potentially have many, many fine pins.

So here are my questions: Is it feasible ( cheap and painless) to string a Canon camera and iPad together?

Where would I get such a cord?

What about the program for the iPad? I mean where would I get that and learn how to use the blooming thing?

I just know somebody on UHH knows all about this. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Mark

Hi everyone, glad to have found this site. Looking forward to learning from you. I am a total low tech photogropher. My modest 7.1 digital Cannon has brought me hours of fun and some nice photos by my standards. I don't plan on investing lots of money in equipment or classes. I'm not a person who gets the tech lingo or has the memory for all that intails. I would love the help and support of any patient soul willing to aid me in my comfort zone. My goal is to capture the beautiful images of nature. With thanks and respect for your art. Christiana

Spring is springing in the backyard. I love the warmer beautiful sunny days but I so hate yard work with a passion but.....it has to be done.

I'll get to it....next week.

The # 1 photo is Dandelions and we make a salad of them, they are very tasty and healthy. Too bad they are labeled as a weed....

I have always shot in JPEG; when I download to my edit program, I make a copy, edit from the copy so I always have an original. I'm just not understanding all the hype about shooting in RAW. What's the difference from what I'm doing? Thanx

When you PP a raw file you are working on the lineal(hope I spelled it correctly) side, which doesn't change the pixels. working in any other format you are working on the gama side and that alters the actual pixels.....Hope this helps

I have put together a slide show of what I call "People Pics", and added music to it and wanted to send it to "You Tube", but is there anything here that I can get sued over? They are of people that I took in public places, and I've added a Judy Collins song to it.

I've posted many videos on Youtube,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nu4uf1HAttM. I've never been questioned of the photo content, only a warning about "3rd Party Content Match," meaning the music choice. Only once was the sound track removed.
Good luck and have fun. As long as you aren't making a profit from the post you are fine.

I never get tired of taking pictures of my "littleboys" American Soldier and Echo. Soldier is a Stallion so he's a bit of a pest but you can see Echo knows when to put him in his place.

Error 05 means the flash didn't pop up...duh...like you wouldn't know. Fix is on the link. Seems like a common problem. I have a 7D but don't use the on-camera flash so I don't know if it happens to mine or not.

Thank you for the info, I have both Canon 20D and 50D with the same problem. I will try the fix recommended.
Good searching.
