Super Zoom

A superzoom or ultrazoom lens is a type of photographic zoom lens with unconventionally large focal length factors, typically ranging from wide angle to extreme long lens focal lengths in one lens.

I am thinking of replacing my Tamron 150-600 Di VC lens. I have a Nikon D7000 and a new Z7ii. I have been very happy with the Tamron it works well on the D7000, BUT it does not auto focus on the Z7ii. As best as I can find it is the firmware/software on the lens and cannot be updated. I love the Z7ii and the focusing capabilities. I am thinking of the Nikon's F mount 200-500 f/5.6 E ED (used it can be had for 900 range at MBP) or the Z mount 180-600 f/5.6-6.3 VR (new 1,700 no used listed that I have found). I have the F to Z adapter. I have been happy with my past used purchases from the usual suspects (KEH, B&H). I have a few F mount lens those that autofocus work with the F2Z adapter and work on the Z7ii. I have two Z mount lenses 24-120 and the 105, both are S lenses and have to me outstanding image quality. I would be using this lens for birds and other nature photos. If you have either or both which do you think has the best image quality and would be my best option?

I have had the Nikon 200-500 almost for as long as I can remember. It has two drawbacks that may or may not bother you. The lens is heavy and is not weather proof. Results from the lens are excellent.

Today, if I was going to be using a Z7II, I would be looking for a compatible Z lens.

Just curious, Linda, what are some of the sections that we used to have, but no longer exist? If a section loses its moderator, is the section closed or does it sit in some sort of "suspended animation" waiting for someone else to come along to manage it. Thanks Linda.

At the bottom of the sections what you see is

right there for everyone to see.

Following your template, attached below is a miserable photo, taken in rather unfavorable conditions of something rarely seen. I wasnt looking for compliments on the photo itself, but the rarity of the subject. How often does one get to see a Korg GT-3 Guitar Tuner ?

After seeing Jerry's post, I wonder what kind of response your Guitar Tuner would get in Chit Chat.

FIXED. THANKS EVERYONE. Bracketing button was the villain. It's something I've never used and is hidden under the silicon cover I use. Must have gotten bumped some how.

Great news.
Over the past few years we have seen this come up a number of times.
Thanks for letting everyone know!

Because some are not artists, study art, or are "professional" photographers.
They simply like photography. Aficionados.

I thought that would be QUITE obvious.
But I guess not, evidently...

It has to be clear by now that anyone still posting on this thread are just having fun. There is very little new information being posted. Anyone who is really looking to be helpful would have started a new thread by now, specified what the thread is about, and monitored it.

I stand by something I said a long time ago. A thread that goes beyond three pages will shortly turn into junk. Anyone who disagrees should read this thread and keep track of how often the same people say the same thing over and over, or just keep saying, I agree.

I am not complaining! Any joke that can attract this much attention by regurgitating the same stuff day after day deserves:

If someone needs help in getting good photos, what is wrong with telling them? I don't mind, in fact I appreciate it.
What is wrong with healthy criticism?

The one thing that seems to be eluding some in the Photo Gallery is that the section has specific rules. It does state that the poster may ask others to comment.

This section is for posting pictures you took. If you want to ask others to comment on your choice of subjects, composition, settings, show off your pictures to others, or ask for general critique, then please do so in the Photo Gallery section.

Why do folks insist on commenting when their comments aren't asked for. The polite thing might be to ask "May I make a suggestion?"

I just watched an interesting, to me, video on what to do with a wet camera. The rice was interesting as he recommends a bag of rice with some hole in it, inside a bag with the camera. Less than 10 minutes.

My opinion :

Inexpensive camera, follow above advice.

Expensive camera, get it serviced as soon as possible.

Four days with some showers is a lot.

I love to see variety like you showed us here.
Any one of the images good have stood on their own, but more enjoyable as a group.

And of course, they all look better in the photo gallery.
