Some of these are panos and some are just cropped for interest. Hope you like them.

Bluebonnets on a fence line one foggy morning. Ellis county. In camera pano.

Llano River below one of the spillways. Wasn't enough water for squat. Lots of people went down and made cairns, some pretty good and some not. In camera pano.

Besides Bluebonnets, Indian Paintbrush is a favorite in Texas. This is an in camera pano so I don't know how many shots are included in it.

One of my favorite birds. Scissortails are one of the hardest birds to catch in flight because they are so erratic. This one posed rather nicely.

Pumpkins all lined up in a row. Shot this early one morning before a photography class at the Dallas Arboretum.

A few shots of Texas that aren't scenics.

Rare night time shot at the Dallas Arboretum. They usually don't stay open after dark but this was a Chihuly event. The photo was printed on metal and exhibited at the Arboretum for a month.

At another event I found a classical guitarist and got a few shots of him. Those hands look pretty worn.

Eye'm watching you from downtown Dallas. This is fenced in but you can shoot through the bars with a short telephoto.

And then, fire. got a call about a burning pipeline west of Dallas. Ran out and got a pretty good series of shots. Only regret, I lost my Maglite in the grass somewhere.

(Download)

The tools and the trade. I saw this in front or the White Front store in the stockyards in Ft. Worth. Never saw anyone actually working on the shoes but I did buy a new western felt hat from them.

Wonderful time to be rolling around Texas. Drive from Morgan Mill to Houston last weekend and Morgan Mill to Sherman on Wednesday. Bluebonnets have never been better.

Wish I could say the same for the Ellis county bluebonnets but I fear this might be a bad year. They just aren't really showing. Heading for the Dripping springs area next week so I hope to find better.

Just a few more from around the state.

Found this old painting of the Texas flag on a silo in central Texas. Can't remember what road. Gotta write this stuff down.

Wooden windmill and tank found not too far from Austin.

Big Tex at the State Fair of Texas. After I shot this and wandered off it caught fire and burned completely.

Long horns in a field of Indian Paintbrush on the Ennis Bluebonnet Trail.

I found this beautiful Yucca this afternoon on one of the backroads near the Bluebonnet Trail.

Key fob always in the right front pocket, knife in left, and cell phone in back left pocket to be removed when I get in the car and placed on the console. When I'm out with my phone the number one rule is "Never set it down, anywhere", no matter how easy it is to do. Put in in your pocket. Uncomfortable, tough but you will never loose it if you stick to that one rule.

A few more from around my state. Hope you like them.

Texas Hill Country near the town of Utopia I found this stream going under the road with a nice little area of clear water. It was about 10 feet deep, green with algae, but clear to the bottom. Fall so the trees around it were in full color.

A wooden windmill, something you don't see very often, especially in this condition. Located in Cedar Hill State Park in the Penn Farm area.

(Download)

About four miles from my house the tracks led through a bunch of ice covered trees. It was beautiful and I didn't even have to get out of my car to take the shot.

OCC, oil, cattle, and cotton. Backbones of Texas.

(Download)

Caddo Lake spanning the border between Texas and Louisiana. The only natural lake in Texas. Surrounded by Cypress, Pine, and Oak trees it is a magical place.
