Were that image mine, it would be on the wall in a rather large format! Excellent image!

Imagine that flag "flying" inside that little establishment in a small, far-off country. Says quite a bit about how they regard us and what we have done over the last two and a half centuries. I doubt there was a soviet flag there during the days when Parnu was a stop for the Soviet Air Force folks. Perhaps some of the young folks who constantly complain about and belittle our country would do well to take a look and reconsider their position...

I have found that putting accidents like that one through LR and PS, occasionally going back and forth between PS offerings, often results in interesting abstracts. If you happen to enjoy abstract art, which I do, it is both fun and interesting and sometimes results in something worth putting on the wall. I suspect others may have had the same experience.

Whether one agrees or disagrees with the message, this is a photo showing American freedom in action. This young woman has the right to express her view regardless of whether I like it or not, or whether the next person likes it or not. Unfortunately, in today's political environment that freedom is not always afforded to all citizens, especially those expressing views more to the right on the political spectrum. Would that all could accept the basic ideas of our founders, those being that we all may live our lives as we see fit without hatred or interference from others so long as we do it in a manner allowing others to do the same.

These are beautiful! I especially liked number 8, with the birds all ready for landing with gear down and flight controls just right for touchdown. Considering how far away you must have been, these are unusually good even considering the excellent images we routinely see from UHH participants.

So one person's symbol is okay and another person's is not. How American!

Only a story like this would make us put down our political squabbles to root for a group of young men who are showing what grit is all about. That bunch has a whole nation pulling for them!

Depending on how much the car is worth to you, perhaps it should be taken to a leather professional (shoe repair shop?) and let them either do the fix or tell you exactly what might work...

Around 45 of the original 100 B-1s (actually B-1B) are still around and are based at Dyess AFB, Texas and Ellsworth AFB, SD. While it looks somewhat like the old, now obsolete, F-111, it is around 2-3 times the size. Th fighter guys like it when it comes to "play" at Red Flag since it is able to keep up with the speed of the fighters. This is a very large, very powerful and very beautiful example of flying machines. If you ever saw one taking off with all four afterburners blaring you would be unlikely to forget either the sight or the noise.

These are magnificent images, and any photog would be most proud to have achieved them! One small comment, however, is that a wee bit more detail on the snow on the top of the left center mountain in the first picture would help. However, if that detail is simply the result of snow blowing around, as we see over the edge of the rocks, then ignore the above and get those pictures printed LARGE and hung on a BIG wall where they belong!

Here in San Antonio we seem to have far less serious crime than other large cities, although in the past couple of weeks there has been more of it in the news. Unless there has been a major change, the River Walk is normally quite well patrolled by San Antonio's finest; I have never been there without noticing a solid presence of the guys in blue. I suspect the relatively low level of crime can be closely associated with the carry laws in Texas, which are less restrictive than in many other states.

When I was about 12 y.o. my dad was assigned to WPAFB. We lived on-base on the Patterson side; I rode my bike all over the base and periodically stopped to see what was new at the then-current museum location.

It was in a series of old shop buildings along the base fence near the Fairborn gate, not well lit, everything jammed together, and of course far fewer displays than today's beautiful museum. Larger aircraft were outside in the weather, which is frequently not so pleasant in that area. The museum was moved from the Patterson to the Wright side of the base at some point after we left. A computer search of the move from the Patterson side to the Wright Field side (separated then by the old Route 4) reveals an 86-image spread on the XB-70, the last few images of which show the XB-70 being moved down the state highway from one side to the other.

I saw the XB-70 sitting alone on a stretch of taxiway across the road from the base golf course and of course had to ride my bike over to take a look. It seemed huge! One day about that same time the forward section of Bock's Car, the Nagasaki B-29, showed up on a truck, apparently headed for the museum, so that also required investigation. Mind you, there were no fences or guards around. At that time and at that age I had no idea of the significance of the plane, but time and education cured that.

There was a story floating around that the reason the move was made involved the B-36 landing by mistake on Wright Field and not being able to take off again, thus requiring a change of location for the entire museum. I have no idea whether that is true or not, but the museum IS on the Wright side, and that old B-36 IS sitting right there. Can anybody shed more light on the subject? BTW, if you find yourself anywhere near Dayton a visit is worth the effort! It is one of the best you will ever visit.
