I am not quite that old to have been around when she recorded. But
I always enjoy her singing whenever I hear it.

Did a lot of ballroom dancing and there was a singer (sadly cannot
remember her name) that sang in Chicago and it was hard to tell the
difference between the two singers.

Frida Lee?

There are no bad recordings of her singing.

Are you old enough to be one of her fans? I am!!

I record EVERYTHING and watch at my leisure. I haven't watched an ad (except Clydesdales) for years. Nothing is live tv anymore for me.

Me too!

No DVR. It interrupts my lawn mowing schedule. But I’ll watch anyway.

I did not know DVR's could also mow lawns!

If it's a late game, we tape it and watch it in the morning before hearing the score. Get to skip commercials and half-time. We're up by 5am, so it's easy for us.

Lol, if we're not that super interested in a game it also allows us to catch the score before deciding if we want to watch. Too old to sit on the edge of my chair for two hours awaiting the outcome!

For years we have been taping shows and watching them later while skipping commercials.

We’ve been doing same for years.

Many fans complained about the staring time of the South Carolina vs UConn. "Too late" was the common complaint. Fans are now complaining that today's final between SC vs Iowa is too early! Hello fans. You can record the game and watch at your convenience! Duh!! I seldom watch sporting events live. We'll record today's matchup and begin watching about 1.5 hours after the TV starting time. We've been doing that for years. Have it "your way"!

I agree that would work. However if you are a county clerk with maybe 100,000 pieces of property small staff. Switch over might mean bigger calcs

I think you missed my inference. I was commenting on the complexity of conversion. It is only simple mathematics.

No. I'm a stickler for following the recipe. I want to be able to eat what I cook. Tonight, I'm having a 4:33 Healthy Choice microwave dinner - some kind of chicken. At least they say it's chicken. 🙄

Sorry! Frozen dinners are never an option. I never measure ingredients. I doubt exact measurements alter the taste.

I can convert distance and speed close enough, but grams confuse me. A recipe with grams is useless to me. Kilograms are okay, though. Maybe I'll substitute kilos for grams in recipes. It will just make a larger batch.

"Now add three kilos of sugar." 😁

Don’t measure ingredients. Just pour and trust. 😀

Here in Central Oklahoma we have a number of quakes in the last couple years all blamed on oil industry. Who knows. Most have been kinda together in the 3 to 4 range maybe a 5 rattler. On the metric system it was explained to me that the biggest obstacle was the land measurements all in inches, miles etc. To convert would be a nightmare. Just sayin

I taught 7th/8th grade mathematics during the 1960’s. All my students knew how to convert to and from non metric to metric. No calculators and they did it accurately. It was NOT a nightmare.

My daughter lives at the center of yesterday’s quake. I live about 7-8 miles from her. She felt another aftershock this AM. I did not, but I may have been sleeping.

I live about 5 miles from the center of the quake. We also had another around 6:00 PM. Loud bang, then our building shook for 20 seconds. It was a bit scary but mostly puzzling until the news clarified the cause.
