the last few weeks we (grandpa and beppe) have been watching our 5mo old grandson while his mom and dad are working...what a priviledge it has been, even tho i am exhausted by the end of the day...today the sun has come out and i took Bradley into the yard to snap some pics of my beautiful pansys and then i gave one to Bradley to check out...and put into his mouth of course...i love photographing him! the other day i also caught a couple of Bradley and my doxie, Ruby, on the couch...and a couple of an outing by the water...

very nice serene setting to be looking out at every day...it is beautiful here in the pacific northwest also but i just love that we get to see so many parts of our country and the world thanks to this awesome forum..your will learn and see so much here...welcome to the 'hog' terej76 from norway!
what an awesome suprise bonus for your day...i had to call my husband in to check these out..he enjoyed seeing what lifeguards can do in the big surf...loved the spray shots you captured, i'm always looking for those kind of waves also...loved the first one how the spray seems to go straight up...thanks for sharing those action shots!
thank you all for the comments...i am still learning so much thru this forum
would like some feedback on color vs bw, vignette or not...thanks
very nice shots woodsliv! when i paged down after reading the descriptions of what was coming, i let out an audible 'ahhhh'..the tranquility, composition and the winter colors..i also may have cropped it but the wide openess of the shot helps create the story...second shot is also very nice, cropped or not...the touches of color are interesting..third shot didn't do anything for me besides seeing OLD GLORY...always happy to see her~ too bad there was no breeze...no movement in the pic lost my interest...but #1 is a real bell ringer! was this near Tahachipi?

well i think she is there for awhile..we were here last May when she was transported and unveiled at that time and sounded like she was staying...they needed a boost for tourism...there is always a line of people to take pictures under her...

so after perusing this whole thread, which was very informative on Macro vs Close up...i'm just not all that knowlegeable about all that but i love taking close ups..maybe i will get feedback on some of these...this is what i absolutely love about being part of the UHH...welcome to all the newbies, you will learn and probably teach us also...so hopefully i won't inundate with close ups..i'll save some for when the 'close up section' is created...anna
