Very nice! Hope it's warm in your basement. My garage 'studio' is freezing cold right now.

Please do. If you make it pretty and keep it light weight and strong send me one When you get rich and famous.

I can think them up but can't get into marketing.

When I get rich and famous from your idea, sure. I should tell you ahead of time that it hasn't happened yet!
So maybe I better just send the best ones until then.
Have to admit, there is something I don't like about keeping a QR plate on my camera when it's not trpodded.

Think of what it would have cost you to hire a kitchen and chef for a practice session. Your terrible experience won't seem so bad!

I took it out again today, it really is nice. Everyone should make one.

Do you mind if I make one, using your idea, but since I am a product designer in real life, I will not be able to keep from
putting my ideas into it to. Thank you for you post. There should be many more to come!

On the cover of many magazines are shown portraits of beautiful models without a speck of skin imperfection/blemishes almost to the point of resembling a mannikin. I'm told those photographers making/taking/creating those shots receive very good compensation for their work. Is altering a sunset, seascape etc. any different? I once knew a forensic photographer that said no photo manipulation of any kind whether film or digital was acceptably in court as evidence, and some courts will only allow film photos.
On the cover of many magazines are shown portraits... (show quote)

It all depends on the rules and who is making them. Whoever is 'paying the bill' usually gets to make the rules. Just like in real life.

Pretty cool idea!
Besides, YOU know what you need and if making it out of old Tupperware works, so much the better!

The only thing that matters normally is the final image and how one gets there is unimportant. Very often those who shout the loudest about getting it right in camera do not possess PP ability and very often their work shows it.

However if you enter a competition which specifies things cannot be added that were not in the original shot etc then you cannot complain if your work gets the Spanish waiter treatment.

When classed as 'photojournalism', an image ought to reflect the reality of the moment. Otherwise the final result is the product. The process is unimportant, whether it be paint or pencil or sliding around presets in PP software, what is produced is what matters.

...'Without a vision, the technically prefect photograph is nothing but pixels on a screen or a technically clear print'...
Sharpness does not make an image great, nor does the latest PP effect...they are just some of the tools. The vision comes from within the photographer, everything else allows others to see that vision.

Hello every body this is Araia again. I need your suggestion whether to use the viewfinder or LCD. I know the LCD consumes too much battery.
I wear glasses, and I see better on my left eye, so what do I loose if I use the LCD. Your answer is much appreciated.
Thanks

I am left eyed and have been forever. Back when a wiewfinder was all there was, I didn't even notice that everybody else used their right eye.
Probably your answer is whatever you like. You're the one running the camera.

Dewan,
You don't seem to be spending anywhere near enough money taking pictures. Must be talent?

A great 'cuppa'. PP applied with a deft hand has created a beautiful group of images. Congratulations!
