The resolution difference is irrelevant:
* 1DX: 18.1
* 5D Mark III: 22.3, 11% more linear resolution
* 6D: 20.2, 6% more linear resolution

11% means a 20x30 print becomes a 22x33 print. Will you ever notice that difference?

Along the same lines, there is no reason to get a 6D also. The 1DX is the only DSLR you need. There, saved almost $2k. :-)

You're killing me. I thought you were helping me INTO the 1DX, not being sensible and responsible and rational and steering me away from it. I thought you were supporting the rationale of acquiring this thing, not letting it slip to the wayside.
Honestly, I've been eyeing it for about a year, but never considered it because it was so large. With the battery grip on my A99, it is even larger, so I resolved that obstacle in an awful hurry!
