I Like some of the concepts, however as a tri-focal wearer, my thumb interferes with my glasses.

I just received my new 18-140 and it was very difficult to put on my D7000. Then I wasn't sure if I would get it off. Similar to the gent two days having trouble getting his lens removed from his camera. All other lenses are smooth. Thankfully B&H C/S is among the best for a free RMA and return, and soon exchange.
Anyone else encounter a similar problem with the 18-140?

I have had both lenses and I like the 18 - 270 a bit better for the extended wide angle end and the smaller size. The nature of the all-in-ones, is that they have trade-offs. I'v taken several thousand fotos with mine and the vast majority are tack sharp. I tend to stay away from the 270 end on distant shots and take them at 240ish. And they are just fine. But the 270 end is fine on closer shots. I check the 1 to 1 focus on most shots, and the focus is excellent. I have set my autofocus fine tune adjustment for a correction at the 270 end and it works well, but you must remember to turn it off when working mid range or wide. Kind of a pain there.
Experiment with it to learn it's limitations. I am still pleased with mine and it is my favorite walking around lens. The Nikon equivalents aren't appreciably any better for the price difference.

My wife and I are avid birders and we use a Nikon spotting scope. But it does require a tripod and has a much longer reach than most telephoto lenses and is not quite as expensive. I have taken several interesting photos thru the scope using my smartphone.

Using a Nikon D7000 in movie mode, the files are recorded in a .MOV file. When played back on the computer, the movie stutters. Like very short "buffering" breaks. It doesn't matter if it is played on Picasa 3.9, Nikon View NX, or windows live photo gallery. Any similar experiences out there? Any solutions?
