With a 400 I would use 400 ISO and 1/500.

I hope this helps.

My gear: Nikon D810, Nikkor 24-70mm 2.8G, Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G, Nikkor 135mm f/2D or Sigma 35mm 1.4 DG. My question is which lens should be used and what should the settings be? Thank you.

I happen to have 4 of them: 1 with the D600 that I bought years ago, 1 with the D610 that Nikon exchanged with the D600, and 2 with the D750 & D810. All of the 4 cameras use the same battery type, charged with either the MH-25 or the MH-25a. The MH-25a does charge faster though.

Can some tell me if there is any difference between the charger MH-25 and the MH25a??

That's very good to know, thanks. I use my D810 for airshow photoshoots, recording RAW on the CF slot & JPEGs on the SD slot.

FYI: There are adapters to make SD cards fit in a CF slot. I bought one from B&H for my Canon 5DS R and the adapter seems to work well. Also, it was under $20.

I've just ordered a 16x20 canvas print from Costco (San Diego) yesterday for a total of $40+ tax included. Your prices are too high.

I am wondering if there might be an interest in a workshop where the participant wraps their own pre-printed giclee archival canvas for their own use. I am not advertising said workshop, just interested in how many would participate if one was in your area?

Assuming $35 workshop fee plus canvas (all items required included) cost for 1 of 3 sizes,
12x18 $45, total $80
16x24 $75, total $110
20x30 $120, total $155

Would you;
-be interested?
-consider these prices low, right on, or high?

After twice sending it in to Nikon for repair, I had my defective D600 replaced with a D610 by Nikon free of charge.

The d600 had an issue with spots appearing on the sensor. These may have been from the shutter assembly.
Nikon issued a recall and replaced the shutter, or even upgraded the camera to the d610 in some cases.

If the seller of an older camera can show that the shutter was replaced, it may be worth it.

I am not selling my d600, which did have it's shutter replaced.

This happened to me on my D810. I've set up the SD for overflow and the Lexar CF went bad on me during my photoshoot. I paid dearly for it (lost 2000 pics). Now I have the CF for Raw pics & the SD for jpegs...

This is not germain to your question, but from the school of Hard Knocks, if you have a dual memory card camera body, you should never set the second card for overflow. Unless your primary card in 8 Gb and you are shooting on a D810 in RAW, it is highly unlikely that you will ever fill up the primary card. Assuming of course that you keep only active images on the card, not everything you've done this year or something.

The second card should be used as backup, because eventually, one or the other card will fail and you'll be screwed. Happened to me once, but will never happen again.

It is indeed very weird. Both are selling for 1496.95 at B&H and the 750 has a battery grip as bonus...

Nikon is selling the D610 body only for $1499 and D750 and the battery grip for the same price $1499. I wonder if they really expect to sell some D610?

Good idea. I'm an aviation photographer and I've had a 64Gb Lexar CF fail on me in the middle of an airshow. I lost close to 2000 pics on it that day...Time to ship it back to Lexar.

I've never done wedding photos as a pro before because the shooting schedule for such events is way too demanding. Instead, I prefer to rove around and shoot pro bono, for family and friends. Attached are 2 shots I did for my niece's wedding (Nikon D810, NIKKOR 24-70mm).

Hello, everyone. I'm into my 4th month of retirement and my latest hobby is aviation photography. Started my DSLR 'career' about 15 months ago with Nikon gear. Previously into 35mm photography in the early 70s.
