I drove an hour and a half to get this shot. I knew that this great horned owl was nesting and word was that she had a new owlet. Unfortunately, I was informed by other photographers with the same idea that I had just missed her feeding the little guy. She jumped out of the nest and had some stash in the tree that looked like a mouse. Meanwhile, the father stood guard in an adjacent tree watching over his mate and his new off spring. I got many shots, but could not get very close so they were a challenge for my 400mm lens, but I am pleased with what I did get. Too cute. As an aside, after being burned here by getting a photo stolen and put up for sale, I am no longer making anything downloadable.

Oh and yes, she kept covering the little one with her wings - an incredible experience!

Hey Pedalmasher, being a southern boy like me there is one cure that usually works, all we do is drop by and open a big can of WHOPASS along side his head, he'll get the idea. Just on big old can of WHOPASS, he wouldn't steal again. These talented people work damn hard for their art, and a butthead shows up.......................let's get r done, I'm in....

I sent him his name, address and date of birth to let him know that I have honed in on him and sent him messages asking him to cease and desist. If he does not, then it is plan B. Interestingly, I am heading to Colorado (where he lives) this very summer!

Thanks DP, I started a thread about it this afternoon and lots of good info came from it.

The most effective remedy when you find that your image has been stolen and is being offered for sale on someone else's web site is to send a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DCMA) directly to the company that hosts the web site (the Internet Service Prover or ISP).

After it receives proper notice under the DCMA, the ISP must remove from its user's website material that appears to constitute copyright infringement.

Unlike other copyright infringement remedies, your copyright does not have to have been registered with the U.S. Copyright Office for you to take advantage of this DMCA provision.

Here is good, step-by-step guide written for photographers.

Many ISPs have an on-line form specific to their web site which you can use.

In addition, there are many companies that will handle the process for you for a fee. Just Google "DCMA notice" or similar words.

Have you contacted Facebook? I'll bet he hit NikonCafe, too. Contact the US Attorney in your area. There should be some pro's around that have had something like this happen. What did they do?

He hasn't used FB for his postings so there would be nothing they could do.
