I've done some with the filters and not with a modified camera. I want to get a modified camera someday but for now I play with PP. I use Lightroom, but I think PS would be better.
I'm sure the first one is what we call a grainery. The little roof on the far end was the elevator...that would bring the grain to the top and it would go down a shute to different compartments. I suppose that one was for wheat. Here in Iowa they were used mostly for oats....sometimes barley and even soybeans. The really nice ones had corn cribs on the sides and you would drive the tractor and wagon between the corn cribs and you could open bottom of one of the compartments and the grain would run into the wagon by gravity. The corn cribs were larger since they stored corn still on the ear. They would shell and feed the corn when it air dried in the cribs.
I should add that timing is the key. You need to activate the shutter before the shell explodes. I took about 80 shots and was able to save about a third. Some go out of the frame so I learned fast not to zoom in too much.
I was on a tripod with remote shutter release and all shots were taken at 2 seconds with this setting. I dont think there is a way to decrease the shutter speed any more in this mode. A local town had fireworks early and another town is tonight and more on the 4th of course. I'm really happy with the results. I was about half way zoomed and about a mile away. I did crop these images but very little post work.
