Great B&W photo. Sets the mood of a forlorn story. Nice work. Thanks for sharing.

The MB/s value is a peak value that will never be fully realised in real life situations because of the way SD cards deal with continuous data streams. The V rating is more useful because it indicates a guaranteed minimum data transfer rate, which is what you need for continuous data streams like video or transferring large image files.

Unless your camera is capable of 8K video at a high frame rate, V60 will be sufficient because it'll be at least as good as your camera's data transfer capabilities. Downloading to your computer via a card reader from a V90 SD card can be faster than from a V60 card but the difference is fairly marginal, and for most people it's the in-camera performance that matters most.

Note the upper case M in MB/s. That indicates megabytes per second as opposed to Mb/s which indicates megabits per second. 1 byte = 8 bits.

Thanks for the explanation.

I recently purchased a new OM-1 from them at a below market price, don’t understand why the price was so good, but everything about the sale was excellent. That was my second purchase from them. Roberts, Adorama, B&H, Crutchfield and MPB are my go to vendors. Good luck.

I switched to a Panasonic G9 and Panasonic Leica lenses for most of my non wildlife photography four years ago and I could not be happier. I still keep a Nikon D750 for nostalgia and just in case I deem it the better system to use for low light etc. It is hard to tell the difference between the two systems IQ in most cases but in some cases you can see the difference but not enough for the trade off. I use M43 fast primes for low light and I am pleased with the results. I just purchased an OM-1 camera for my wife to use with her Oly 12-100 f4 lens and from just the initial menu setup I can say it was fairly simple to follow and the still photos are quite similar to our G9. On another note Panasonic’s G9 is priced at only $899, the lowest price I have ever seen, and their Panasonic 100-400mm is now down to $1300, also the lowest I have seen. It could be that this is a part of an overall reduction in pricing structure for their entire line ( as they are doing in Japan)or just maybe an introduction of a new M43 phase detection Gh6 II or G9II plus a revamped 100-400 or a completely new long telephoto lens are in the offing. Good luck with your choice.

What do you think is going to happen with Micro Four Thirds? Do you think Panasonic and Olympus (or whatever it is called now) are going to continue this format? I have a Lumix G9 that I have used for years and LOVE, but it is old and tired - I don't know whether to replace it or not

My wife and I both have a G9, she with an Olympus 12-100 f4 and I have six PL lenses that I use with some regularity. I don’t really need it to do more than it already does except maybe BIF but I have Nikon gear to handle that. I may buy another new G9, OM-1 or GH6 II or G9 replacement as insurance but I wouldn’t part company with our 4/3 gear if either or both companies closed down their M43 lines. The G9 only costs $1000 with a three year warranty from Panasonic or less than $800 like new used from MPB or others. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for the great photos. They brought back memories of our family visit there in 1981. Interesting place and very scenic.

Imagine a silent world of mirrorless swans. The slap of a mirror will shortly be treated like lighting a cigarette indoors. You and your obnoxious DSLRinosaur will be asked to leave.

Already happened to me back in 2011 at Montserrat Monastery when my D750 was shushed by a lady using her cell phone because my shutter/mirror was making too much noise. I was indignant but I confess that is what drove me ultimately to buy my M43 G9. So now only the G9 goes traveling but I still have the D750 and enjoy using it occasionally.

My wife and I have the Sony VI & VII and we use them as a backup camera when we are traveling. The photos and videos are very good and only slightly outdone by our Panasonic G9 & Panasonic Leica kits. They replaced our Canon G15 & 16 which had a smaller sensor and in no way had the IQ and superior features of the Sony RX100 VI & VII. Expensive but worth it.

I have the same device and it is very effective in detecting sensor dust. As suggested I always take a shot of a blue sky at f16 or above to note the general location of the dust remembering the location is reversed while looking at the sensor. I successfully cleaned my D750, D7100 & D7000 with the Eyelead stick which cleans dust very well. If it stubborn with some type of other residue I then use the wipes being careful not to use more than 2 drops on the pad. Lots of YouTube videos on how to do it. Be sure to read the directions for either product and do a trial run before you start the procedure. I was anxious at first but it all went pretty smoothly. I have not attempted to clean my mirrorless G9 as it has never needed it in over 4 years. Good luck!
