Oh boy! JUST KEEPS ON SPINNING.. Starts when you go to log in.. Hope you can help..

A spinning wheel on an iMac means the connection has not yet been made. That wheel will continue to spin unless you stop the attempt or the connection is made. You have not mentioned WHERE your log-in is failing. If your computer will not boot up your problem lies internally and you may want to call APPLE. If your computer boots but will not connect the problem lies with your internet provider. Your best hope would be to re-boot the modem and router.

Hi,it is with great sadness that I have to inform the friends and fellow UHH members of Angler of his passing in the early hours of Monday 15th January 2024 after a short illness.
He enjoyed sharing his photos and appreciated all the comments he received.
On behalf of my Father I thank you all it brought him great pleasure.

He may have left our world but he now sits on the Rainbow Bridge with his loving, friendly pup. That is a permanent place of honor.

Great looking building! Can you possibly explain the sole log protruding out from the wall above the door near the floodlight? Every piece of a log building has purpose and curiosity makes me wonder what function it serves.

This is not what I usually photograph but this was reminiscent of my younger days. The last image is of a 1950 Olds 88 -- my first car which was the fastback version. Those were the days, kind of.

Jeff and Stacy are having fun.

I am unable to print a B&W on my Canon pro-100. No matter what I try the print output is very light. I haven't tried to print in color because I don't want to waste more expensive ink.
Background: The printer was purchased new and was used in the art of a magazine I owned. I know it is a notoriously difficult printer. The output was 100 in color. When I sold the magazine I kept the printer. I have used it sporadically over the years. Result, I put it to use printing a B&W portrait scanned from an 8x10 print on a Xanon 9000f scanner, also from the magazine.
The scan was saved in maximum resolution and inspected.
I used Element 23 to reduce the image size to 5x7.
Printing:
I tried to print with Elements 23. Photo looked perfect on the color corrected monitor. But the print was washed out.
I opened maintenance, cleaned the nozzles etc. and tried printing again. Still washed out.
I tried printing with “no color management” and “optimize for printing”
I went into Enhance and darkened the photo.
Nothing worked.
I switched to:InPixio 12, qimage ultimate and canon easy photo-print ex
Still terrible.
I am one of those people who hate to throw things out. I still have my Nikon 100 somewhere. But I am about to take this thing to the dump.

Suggestions anyone?
Oliver

So I am looking at an item on Amazon. It states the seller is Adorama. I have never purchased anything from Adorama. Free shipping and free returns via Amazon is a benefit. Would anyone share their experience please. I did a search on Adorama but the posts were old. Thanks.

Trust Adorama, treat Amazon as the pariah it is!

Does any have experience with this combination.
I currently have the rf 100-400 lens. I'm wondering how well it will work with the 2X extender. I know you loose two
stops of light with the 2x extender.

Thanks,
Dan

Forget autofocus! Nothing above f/8.0 is going to work with A/F so you are limiting your subject material. Live view might help with focus, try it and see what you get. If patience is your strong point you will not experience problems. Good luck, and post your results so we can see.

This is my first year living in Idaho Falls. Throughout the other times of the year the city goes all out with decorations making this city a pleasure to live. For Christmas near the actual Idaho Falls near Broadway Street, there is a park where Christmas lights abound. I have wanted to take some night photos but the temperatures have been down in the single digits at times. Not my idea of a good photographic experience. But last night the temperature rocketed up to 34 degrees. Now that works for me.

The woman on the bridge with the dogs graciously allowed me to take her photo as I told her I really needed a human for the photo. Very nice lady.

These photos are the first outside Christmas photos I have taken so please be gentle with me. Any suggestions would be welcome. I hope you enjoy the photos.

Dennis

Very nicely done! One suggestion might be for you to turn down the saturation, the aura around the lights will be reduced to show only the lit bulb. The gold tone of your waterfall is a great touch! You've given us something to wait for next December!

I wish my Canon cameras displayed the depth of field in the viewfinder. It would be a trivial software feature. With today's fast zoom lenses that focus closely it is more important than ever to know.

Do other brands offer this feature? Am I missing something?

Try "live view."

I'm shooting with a Canon 6D mkII 100-400L Lens mkII on a tripod, distance from the show will be approximately 10-11 miles. It's the annual NYE celebration along the Las Vegas strip. Some have suggested that I just set the camera up for time lapse and let it go. I'm used to using a camera release. Opinions/ suggestions

I have seen fireworks from 35,000'. You will need much more than 400mm to make it worth your effort. At least try it once before the show and see how tiny things will be.

What would be the downsides of using non-Canon bat... (show quote)

Batteries, tripods, ballheads, etc. tell much of a person's appreciation for quality. Many people on this site are willing to spend lots of money for the big-named star of the show, and then hire street bums for their supporting cast.

If modern science can ever figure out why this happens maybe it could cure the common cold.

Not to belittle your service and courage, as a former USAF C-141a crew member (loadmaster) why would any one jump out of a perfectly good airplane.

As a C-141/a aircrew (pilot) I dropped only A/C parts. Several yrs. later while flying the Reservist's C-123 Thunder Pig we were an integral part of Ft. Benning's Ranger training jump school. Jump school was 5 days and scheduled 14 jumps. An active duty C-130 and C-141 were scheduled to join us and give the students practice in several different door-blast environments. One day our crew was fortunate to have an RAF exchange officer ride as an observer. Our un-pressurized, piston powered propellor driven A/C was totally foreign to him. After the first "stick" I turned to him and asked how he liked our A/C. He looked rather pale and said "Now I know why people jump out of an airplane!" We all laughed at his omission of two words.
