Wow, What a lucky catch. Fakahatchee Strand was my absolute favorite place to visit in Florida - you are so fortunate to be living there. The day we spent taking the guided tour of the swamp was an experience never to be forgotten.
Thanks for posting the panther picture.

Thanks for posting these photos. That looks like a fantastic voyage - makes me want to go there and paddle it. Do you have to do it in a rubber raft or is it canoe-able (probably not a word)? I love your work and always click on your posts, but I never have time to type replies - today is unusual as I have the day off and it's a little too cool to go outside and do the yard work (code for I'm feeling lazy today, and am checking out the Hedgehog site for the 2nd time today).

Thank you for posting this wonderful tribute to a true hero. I had heard of Rick Rescola's incredible actions on 9/11/01 before, but this is the first time I have heard the back story of his prior deeds. We are truly lucky to have had this one in a million man come to us from England.

These shots are fantastic- thank you for posting- I ALWAYS check out shots of the B-17. We have had two visits at our little local airport, but the last one was many years ago. I wish they would come again. Your shots are so much superior to the ones I took. I especially like the cockpit view. Wonderful images and they bring back memories of my Dad. He was not a pilot - but crew chief for the team that fixed them up in WWII - stationed in England, then Russia for the shuttle bombing missions. He took photos, too, but almost all of them are of his buddies.

These are three really nice shots-looks like you had a fun day chasing the train. I like the close-ups of the locomotive, but getting the entire train in one shot is really special. Thanks for posting.

It looks like a chives flower to me, how big is it? What do the leaves /plant look like? Chive flowers are great tasting, but here in northern NY they bloom mostly in the spring, with a repeat sometimes later in the fall.

Wow, I have a pond with hundreds of frogs and I've never seen that in thirty years of frog watching. kpmac says they eat snakes too , now I've seen a snake eat a frog, but not the other way around. I can't even imagine how that would happen - head first or tail first. Great capture- thanks for posting.

Oh no- the moon has left it's orbit and is about to crash into the earth. Run, Hide - but where to go?

What a nice find to stumble upon. I love taking photos of old railroad structures, usually found by driving down a road with a railroad reference in the name (like Trestle Lane). The supports of the debarked undressed logs is really cool. Thanks for posting.

This is a wonderful set - I love them all, although my favorite would probably be the third one that shows all the cars and the full head of steam. Thanks for posting

Good one Rich - yes, I have taken many a shot like that waiting for a train to show up. And once took a drive specifically to take a shot of the abandoned rail line in Sabattis (Adirondack Mountains). There is talk about tearing up the line to make it a hiking trail. I got out of the car to take a couple quick shots in both directions and almost got eaten alive by mosquitos- made me wonder who would want to hike there.

Thnaks for posting - great shot and info, It's been too many years since we've been to the Strassburg area, it is a really great place for train lovers. They have two nice museums for trains big and small (toy trains).
