14 FEB 2015 was JewellÂ’s 4th birthday. So instead of a party with cake, candles, etc. we just gave her a double dose of catnip. Here are a few shots of the result. Happy Birthday Jewell!

Ah so the truth comes out. Congrats on the preparation, foresight and skill to get such a shot that have most people slobbering at the mouth to get a similar shot.

I was in the location, and I knew what I would see, since I have been there before. I was fully prepared for what happened, once the bird flushed luck had nothing to do with it. It seems that the harder I try the luckier I get, or it would seem to some people. I work very hard to put my self in the right position and be prepared

Good shots of some 30% to 42% models. I am president of the Wilson NC WRCMA model club and I enjoy the practice shooting the models of all sizes as I do flying.

The smaller the plane the harder it is to stay on and in focus, but it sure is good practice and fun to do.

I sure do love the smell of nitro while flying my planes.

Again you got some good shots of those planes and continue your practice. Also ask some of the flyers to give you a try at the controls of a trainer plane. you may very well enjoy flying as much as you do photography.

It was a beautiful afternoon so I went out the the local model flying field to see if I could capture some of the models in flight. My previous try with an insufficiently long lens, had not been successful, so this time I stuck a 70 -300mm on a 1" sensor camera for a 2.7 crop factor. It was very hard to keep those models in the frame! However, I did get a few decent shots. Good practice for BiF's!

Did he plan to be at that location? Yes

Did he plan to flush the bird? No

Regardless of his skill in photography he was lucky to get the shot therefore he was lucky indeed.

I use to make statements about getting lucky on a shot. I no longer make that statement. I got informed by someone I really admire here that shots like that are not lucky. If you didn't have the skill to get the subject in the frame you would not of gotten the photo. It takes skill to learn to track a subject and without that skill we would never get good photos!

Great tracking, and a great shot!

The A-12 is the plane displayed on the NYC aircraft carrier Intrepid, although most people assume it's an SR-71. Here's an interesting article about eh A-12.

A little guy sat in a cafe one day eating his lunch.

Three Hells Angels walked into the cafe, looked around, and decided to have some fun with the little guy.

They sat at his table. One of them took his coffee away from him and

The third Hells Angel took the little guy's pie and ate it down.

Without saying a word, the little guy got up, went to the cash register, paid his bill, and left.

One of the Hells Angels looked at the waitress, and said, "Did you see that? We took away his coffee, his sandwich, and his pie! And he didn't say a word! He sure ain't much of a man!"

The waitress turned to them and said, "He ain't much of a truck
driver, either. He just ran over three motorcycles in the parking lot!"

I can understand the problems they went thru in this project.

I once covered a place in an attic with old pallet boards to make a small hobby space.

The old pallets versus the new are easily different enough that choosing the boards for the project is no problem.

Getting the nails out is the hard part as they sometimes have to be dug out or use a nail set to get the head out enough to catch with a hammer to pull.
Most pallets are some type of hard wood and is hard and stronger to work with.

The end result was worth the effort!

I don't see how you determined that the woman was
(white) from your thread as I have seen women of all races with blond hair either by genetic birth or bleaching their hair!

A racist thread meant to elicit racial comments is the reason people have a problem living together.

My comment in this thread is arrived from only info in this thread.

I'm afraid you indulge in a rather shabby way to call me a liar, or at least irresponsible. The two paragraphs were a direct quote from Talking Points Memo, which you can look up for yourself, if you are able.

Here is a news report from something called the Times Free Press, which I copied and pasted in two sections--I hope I got it all. But then, you can hope to find something wrong with that, so go to it!

[below is what I believe is a complete quote]

Jennifer Clouse was standing in her yard Friday in her quiet Hixson neighborhood when she saw a woman quickly drive past her house holding a gun out of the window as if it were a cigarette.

"She was just casually holding a gun, and wearing a baseball hat," said Clouse, who lives on Cloverdale Drive. "It was crazy. ... This is a pretty quiet area."

Clouse said the woman drove past her house, ignoring the stop sign and turning right onto Norcross Drive.

"I saw the gun and said to myself, 'I'm going to go inside,'" Clouse said.

Next, she heard police sirens and watched through windows as multiple police cars chased after the woman down the hill.

From inside her house, Clouse said she heard the scream of sirens throughout her neighborhood.

"Then, all of a sudden, the sirens stopped," she said.

Clouse did not recognize the driver, but the woman arrested for attempted murder, Julia Shields, 45, lived just up the street at 1504 Cloverdale Drive.

Police said Shields, blonde and wearing body armor, raced through the neighborhood, past well-manicured lawns and simple brick houses, firing multiple shots out her window at people and cars.

Chattanooga police officers received a report of shots fired at 1300 Cloverdale and arrived at 3:52 p.m. Friday, according to a news release.

Officers found two people who said they were at a stop sign when a woman pulled up in a dark-colored sedan and fired shots into their vehicle, hitting and disabling the radiator.

Then more calls reported a woman pointing a firearm at people as she passed them in her car, and that she fired at another vehicle in the same area. Police found Shields sitting in her vehicle in the Stuart Heights Baptist Church Parking lot on Hixson Pike, the release stated.

Shields sped away in her car and led officers on a chase down Highway 153 and Hixson Pike, still pointing her firearm at vehicles she passed.

Eventually, officers stopped and arrested Shields at Cloverdale Drive and Koblan Drive, near the spot where the shootings occurred and just blocks from her house. She pointed her firearm at an officer, but was taken into custody without incident or injury, the release stated.

Shields has been charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder, seven counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, felony evading arrest and felony reckless endangerment.

Shields is being held at the Hamilton County Jail, and as of Saturday night her bond had not been set. She will appear before General Sessions Judge Gary Starnes on Jan. 5.

I stand by my reporting and point out that, were she Black, she would be long dead; since she is white, the police spared her that inconvenience.

Please feel free to contact Kendi to confirm details, or to call her a liar, too.
