Thanks Bobber for you responses. I have taken lots of pics but never had really good equipment and only used auto or point and shoot types of cameras. I found this camera at a goodwill with 2 lens for only $5.98. I really want to know what I am doing. The first step I took was ordering an owner's manual and I also ordered and just got yesterday "The Complete User's Guide To Canon EOS 10/10S. Just before reading your last post I read about exposure and it said the exact same thing you did. Like I said I have taken some good shots, especially with my little Canon DC40 Camcorder(note my avatar) I was just trying to use the manual on the EOS 10s to see what I could do. I know that I just need to learn the terminologies and how to use them. I do have a ways to go but with the expert advice and help from you guys at UHH I am well on my way!!! If one out of 24 prints shot is worthy of a "good" from you guys then I am happy and motivated to be a great photographer!!!!! Thanks Again!!!!

What do you mean by commercial print? As you see I am a complete rookie at this!!!lol I just shot the photo at Holden Beach,NC and then had it printed at CVS Pharmacy this afternoon. I really like what you did to the picture!!! I tried in Picasa and Smart photo Editor but I could not get it to look that good. Thank You!!!

No, I am using a Canon EOS 10S 35mm camera.

Would appreciate anyone who could touch up this photo of a sea gull I shot yesterday. Just started using a 35mm camera and am trying to capture birds in flight. I know it is not very good but I plan to keep trying until I get a got shot. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you all and very much an admirer of the work you guys do!!!!!!

This is my experience. I have done a few weddings for friends and family because where I come from most people just can't afford high end photographers. However, one time I was called to video tape a wedding. It was a last minute call and I told them I was not an experienced videographer. They said that was ok and we agreed on $200.00 fee. So, I took my Canon DC40 camcorder(don't laugh!!!) and headed for the event. When I got to the wedding I almost passed out, it was really formal and I was not prepared for that type of wedding. I did do a good job but it took a lot of editing. The wedding couple loved my work but I prayed to God that if He got me out of this mess I would never do another wedding unless I was totally prepared. Needless to say I did not breath for 10 hours during that wedding!!!! I Have Not done another wedding since, and that was five years ago. If you are not prepared don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just took my film and had it developed and the pictures turned out just fine. Just a note, CVS can put your 35mm film on a CD and have it ready for you in just an hour!!!No extra charge!!!!They also carry 35mm film, B & W and Color. They have a sale on Kodak Color film, $6.99 for 4/24 400 film!!!!Again, THANKS for ALL YOUR HELP!!!!

Guess What it is working!!!!!! I kept cleaning the shutter with Q-Tips and witch hazel. It opens every time!!!! Thanks Guys for saving the day!!!!!!

Mogul, I did what you said and the film is advancing properly but the camera shutter is not opening every time. It opened fine for a few clicks and then not at all. It looks like something is on the shutter on one side. The viewfinder blacks out for every shot. Is there anything I can clean the shutter with? It looks like oil or some liquid. Thank You for responding, I really hope I can fix this.
