I am well into installing windows 10. And as a result of an endless series of downloads, not only the computer where the download (?) is taking place, but also two laptop computers and another desktop (all running from the same router in my home) are not usable. Now, I read that Gates and company soon will be forcing us to download windows 10.

As I said in the title, "What a crock!"

Maybe I should have said, "Hello Apple?"

Don't know what your problem is, but I have win 10 on all three of my computers, lap top, main computer (desk top) and one is a desk top Bata test computer for win 10 no problems of any kind, only one program don't work, Power Desk a file management program.

Upgraded to Windows 10. Have two drives but Windows 10 will only recognize one drive. Tried everything but nothing I do will get Windows 10 to "see" my 2nd drive. Ideas anyone? Thanks

Under Administrator, go to computer management, then click onstorage see if your hard drive shows up, if it does, you may have to activate hard drive before you computer can see's it

So I am finally saying goodbye to XP 32 bit and move to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I have been using Photoshop 6 with Nik Silver Effects Pro and Topaz Adjust. I read somewhere that most plug-in's are written for 32 bits.

Will the 32-bit PS version run on a 64-bit platform? What about the plugins?

Thanks for any advice!
Short answer is yes but if you are using a 64 bit photo program most likeley no.

I am an amateur always striving to take my photography to the next level. I shoot photos of my 9 yr old dtr, family gatherings, our travels/vacations, and street photography. I decided late last year to invest in a FF camera. The discussions on this forum regarding FF formats have been informative.
At the beginning of this year, after reading as many reviews as possible, I decided on the Nikon 750d. However, there were reports that Pentax was coming out with a FF model this fall, so I decided to wait as I heard/read about the solid, well developed products of Pentax . In the meantime, the Sony A7iiR came out and appeared to be the better camera for me, albeit at a higher cost. For now, this would be the camera I would buy. As the earlier release date for the Pentax was this November, I felt I could finally make a decision. Unfortunately, Pentax has further delayed their release to next spring.
As the Sony compares favorably against most mid-range FF DSLRs and appears to have some inherent advantages over DSLRs, should I just stop waiting and get the Sony? Or, to those who are familiar with Pentax products, do you feel that they will come out with a monster product worth waiting for? This will be my last camera buy in a long time. I am not someone who needs the latest and greatest, but just someone patient enough to do due diligence for a product meeting my needs. Thank you.

One thing, their are plenty of good reasonably priced len's for Pentax, opposed to the other brands. that's worth consideration.

I have one SSD in my desktop machine. It has performed flawlessly. Two main caveats: no SSD that I'm aware of has an infinite life--they all have a maximum number of read/writes before "death." Also, beware of operations that you may have used on HDDs, like SpeedDisk or Diskeeper or similar programs; they can be great for HDDs but are bad for SSDs, causing needless and unnecessary read/writes.

If you have the Diskeeper or similar programs designed with SSD's in mind No problem at all.

That's true, but a simple fix, use the printers utility to clean print heads if you are using an HP printer. Which is one of the best.

A question for my UH friends that have upgraded to windows 10 - how have you found using it over past few weeks. currently on 7 and considering it

Works fine for me no problems of any kind, if it dont work for 30 days you can revert to your old windows, with all your current programs intact very simple to do, nothing to lose with this upgrade.
