I am an amateur always striving to take my photography to the next level. I shoot photos of my 9 yr old dtr, family gatherings, our travels/vacations, and street photography. I decided late last year to invest in a FF camera. The discussions on this forum regarding FF formats have been informative.
At the beginning of this year, after reading as many reviews as possible, I decided on the Nikon 750d. However, there were reports that Pentax was coming out with a FF model this fall, so I decided to wait as I heard/read about the solid,well developed products of Pentax . In the meantime, the Sony A7iiR came out and appeared to be the better camera for me, albeit at a higher cost. For now, this would be the camera I would buy. As the earlier release date for the Pentax was this November, I felt I could finally make a decision. Unfortunately, Pentax has further delayed their release to next spring.
As the Sony compares favorably against most mid-range FF DSLRs and appears to have some inherent advantages over DSLRs, should I just stop waiting and get the Sony? Or, to those who are familiar with Pentax products, do you feel that they will come out with a monster product worth waiting for? This will be my last camera buy in a long time. I am not someone who needs the latest and greatest, but just someone patient enough to do due diligence for a product meeting my needs. Thank you.
