I have never used these cards. But the name and the behavior makes me believe that they may come with some software on them that installs itself and seeks to do some sort of function, whether backup, file copy, or maybe even something else. While one is mounted, or perhaps on a new and previously unused card, can you do an "explore" to see if there is some unexpected file on the card? You can also run Task Manager and see if some unexpected program is running.

I was thinking along the same lines and hope that there wasn't some malware on those cards. I've decided to return the cards for a full refund rather than dealing with the unnecessary issues and go back back to SanDisk Extreme Pro SD cards.

Does anyone have experience with these SD cards? I have purchased couple of these to replace some of my old SanDisk Extreme Pro SD cards. The OWC cards work fine in my cameras. However, I've encountered major issues when trying to transfer images from them to my 2020 iMac. The cards mount on my desktop and show the images which I can copy to my desired locations. However, I can't eject these cards. When I issue my standard eject command, nothing happens even after 15 min or longer. The cards do not eject. When I physically remove them, I don't get the usual message that they weren't ejected properly. Now even after physically removing the cards, they appear as still being mounted and I can still access all information as if they were still physically attached to my computer. Now, when I try to Import the copied images from their copied location, LrC locks up and locks up my computer requiring me to do a hard reboot. This happened with two different OWC cards used on two different Sony mirrorless cameras. To confirm that this was related to the OWC cards, I took couple shots with my old SanDisk cards and these issues were not present. Any ideas?

I get the reason why people are attracted to drone photography. Unfortunately, I have run into situations where trying to take pictures of sunsets and certain landscapes, I've had to deal with drone photographers who feel that it's not they're problem if they are flying their drone in and around the area Im trying to photograph! it's a drag to have to deal with a drone flying in and out of your photos. Especially when there will only be so much time before the sun sets! Some have been respectful, and some............not so much!

Sadly, sometimes that's also true for photographers without drones.

1. National Parks: No drones is a good thing. You can't ride dirt bikes or walk your dog on the trails either. Some are banning cars and offering bus rides because so many photographers jamb up the roads when someone spots a single animal!
2. I love the Chinese spying story. Whoever started it should get an award for creativity or paranoia. Maybe both. In reality, there are photographs and video of everywhere on the internet. Assuming they are looking at my images, I can't see where they will learn anything.
3. Weather is limiting for sure. There are rain and snow proof camera drones, but they cost more.
4. Weight? Mine, including battery, weighs less than a half pound. The controller is almost a pound. Each will fit into a jacket or vest pocket, but not a pants pocket.

All good points.
1. I agree that an open use of drones is not a good idea in the National Parks. However, some limited use in certain locations with reserved time slots would be nice, but perhaps difficult to implement.
2. I don't think that the Chinese spying story is totally outlandish. The drone is commonly connected to a mobile device in which a bug or malware could be inserted. I am not saying that it's a fact or probability but it is a possibility. https://www.flyingmag.com/dji-us-restrictions/
3 and 4. These are just some pros and cons that I am thinking about. When I travel for photography outside of my area, my backpack and pockets are full of photo gear. So what I am personally trying to reconcile, would I be willing to leave out some of my regular gear to accommodate a drone, even though small and light, which I may not be able to use during the trip due to the weather.

DJI Mini 2. It is at a "sweet spot" of quality images, ease of flying and cost. More money will get a bigger sensor and some sophisticated object avoidance.

Most seem to think of drones as flying video cameras. I do video, but I'm having more fun right now with photos. I'm printing at 13x19 with pleasing results.

A first surprise for me was ease of flying. It simple stops and stays put when you remove your thumbs from the sticks. It has auto (or manual) takeoff and land functions.

Could you post some images from your DJI Mini 2? Thanks.

We already have this forum, Drone Video and Photography Forum

I, too, have been considering a drone. Some of my main hesitations include:
1. Not being allowed to use a drone in the National Parks where I do most of my photography. Also restrictions on its use in many other areas where I would consider its use.
2. DJI being the most affordable and capable drone for a reasonable photo quality but there are concerns about possible embedded Chinese spyware and also a mention of government restrictions on its use. The new Sony one sounds great but it's $10K
3. Weather use limitations where I would be adding it to my already over packed backpack and possibly not being able to use at all during a photo shoot.

I'm looking for suggestions on a file storage solution. (Like a Drobo).
I'm thinking 2 separate hard drives - plus a third drive just for backup. I'm ready to spring for solid state drives.
Or maybe the backup is in the cloud.

Thanks...

Tamron 28-200 for Sony E because of convenience due to its focal length range and being able to use it on a full frame mirrorless as well as an APS-C mirrorless.

It seems to be resolved, at least for now. The solution was counter intuitive. I can only access your website if I turn on the NordVPN. Without the VPN, I can't access the website. I am curious why this would be the case.

Aha so you have a VPN no mention of that in your post Hmm. That's the problem even though it's "off" your ip address may be tagged anyway.

I didn’t mention it initially because I’ve confirmed that it was off before posting. Since it’s off, what would be the solution?

Congrats! I suspect that is an Apple Wi-Fi functionality issue, but all's well that ....

It was only a temporary reprieve. Now, I once again can't access the B&H website, using either wifi or cellular. So it's not only a wifi issue. Furthermore, I can access all other website including banks and financial institutions. So I think that it's related to some settings on B&H website. This morning I've called B&H and was told that they had other similar reports and their webteam is looking into it. But still no luck.

I did and was told that several people already called them with the issue and their web team is looking into it.

Spoke too soon. The success was only temporary. Now I can’t access the B&H site on WiFi or cellular.

Perhaps if you call B&H Customer Service, they can switch you to a tech support person: (800) 221-5743.

turn on your phone's WiFi hotspot, then connect to that hotspot w/your iPad and Mac. You then use your phone's cellular connection to access the B&H website. Maybe that fixes it for your tablet and computer the same way it did for your phone

You were correct. Thank you.
