What are your camera settings?
Well, I couldn't slow the shutter down enough to get the effect that I was after without blowing out highlights, don't own a neutral density filter, so I cheated (I guess) and used a circular polorizer. I removed the uv filter and put on the cp and these are the settings....... #1 TV-1/4 AV-16 ISO-100. #2 TV-0.6 AV-16 ISO-100. Hope that helps. :D Tripod is mandatory

Fantastic shots!
Thanx much ph0t0bug. I've driven by the spot a hundred times and finally decided to grab my camera and cheapo tripod and do a walk around. Think a may have given them a bit too much shutter time for that water effect but, nevertheless, a unique and pretty spot. :D
This pristine brook still runs through the site of a Sawyer's Grist Mill as it did two hundred years ago on it's way to feed Stone Bridge Pond.

Good shots,it's really difficult to shoot BIFs.Well done.
Thanx very much angler. I think I'm improving. Been shooting hand held but used a tripod for these and at quite some distance. Next step is to set up a hide. :D

macro subjects do not respond to summons either. The trick is to match the lens to the situation.
I was shooting with a Sigm 150-500mm zoom lens which I think matched the situation pretty well.

This a set of 6 Red Kites taken at Rhayader in Wales. They are amazing birds to watch feeding.
I apologies to all you bird photographic specialist for the quality, but it is not a thing I do a lot of.
Beautiful bird.

Its all about the moment and you captured it
Appreciate the reply creativ simon. :D That was a fun moment but it caught me off guard and I was fumbling with the setting on my camera. I don't know who was more surprised, me or the osprey.
I realize that these photos are not the best quality. However, I got them just by chance. I was kneeling in some brush on the shore of a local pond trying to get some pics of some Ringneck ducks that have been hanging around there when I heard something to my right. When I looked, I saw what I thought was a goose taking off from a small cove about sixty to eighty yards up the shore. When it started flying in my direction I realized that it was an osprey with a fish in it's talons so I started shooting. When it got close I stood up, the osprey saw me, and immediately applied the brakes, veered to the right, and took the long way home. You can see that it's looking straight at me. I've never seen a big bird slow down so fast and thought it was pretty cool.
