Hi:
I have some older Pentax lenses that I would like to try using on my Canon 50D for fun. I bought the Fotodiox PK-EOS adapter. The adapter fits the lens and camera body ok except that I am concerned that the tab sticking out of the lens will hit the mirror when the shutter is pressed. i do not want to try it until I get more information. Maybe i ordered the wrong adapter. Anyone have experience with this combination or have other suggestions. Thanks in advance for the help.

See the metal tab on the lens?

I suggest contacting the bag manufacturer and let them know of the issues with their bag and ask if they will pay to have the lens fixed or send you a new lens. Can't hurt to ask. Tell them you can send the bag and the lens for their inspection and solution to the issue. Good luck.

Often some of the helpful instructions or suggestions on how to do photo related actions are ones I want to save and file away. How do I print out such instructions/suggestions that cover more than one screen on my 21 inch IMAC using Mavericks OS. I know I can do screen captures to capture long multi-screen posts and then print them out, but I would like to print/save the whole message in one pass. Thanks in advance for the help.

I have the same problem on several sites. Best I can figure it is caused by the Adblock Plus or MS security software. You might try disabling them to see what happens.
Thanks for the reply. Question--I am using and I-Pad so would MS security or Adblock be on the Pad. Also, how do I find this security software on the Pad?
Thanks for the help.

I digitally subscribe to the Photo Plus Canon magazine Digital Camera and Digitqal Camera World from England. All was going well until recently. Now when i go to the Library part of the News Stand or open a copy of the magazine, the whole I-Pad freezes. I have to press the home button and start all over and when I return to the Library, open a magazine, it freezes again. My other downloads, like the Audubon Birding book, seem to work fine. I am only using about half of the available gigs on this I=Pad. I took the Pad to the Genius Bar at the Apple store and they could not resolve the issue I have the latest update for the I=Pad software.
Any thoughts on what I should do or try to do to stop the freezes. Thanks in advance for any help.

Can anyone recommend the best (and hopefully inexpensive place(s) to stay? Where and what to see? And any extra tips and advice for (hopefully) a trip to Acadia National Park? I hope to be able to go either this fall or Spring 2016.
Hi Greenguy33:
My suggestion would be for you to get the new book titled Photographing Acadia National Park, The essential guide to when, where and how. by Colleen J. Miniuk-Sperry. You can contact her at cms@cms-photo.com or perhaps your local bookstore can order it. Hope this helps
Thanks to all who responded. You all have given good information and plenty to consider. I will check out the Canon refurb store and what is going on. I sometimes use my wife's SX40 and I like the size and weight a lot.

This is my opinion concerning these two cameras after owning them.
The image quality is better on the SX50 than the SX60. They probably should have stayed with the 12MP sensor instead of jumping to the 16MP sensor.
The SX60 has a much better electronic viewfinder, more telephoto, wider wide angle, improved auto focus, and improved video features. I like the way the SX60 handles and feels in my hands but the SX50 wins on image quality. I keep hoping that there will be a firmware fix for the IQ on the SX60.
When images are viewed at 100%, the SX50 images look cleaner. The images from the SX60 (especially at the high end of the zoom) look like there is a lot of digital interpolation- could be image compression or perhaps digital zoom combined with the optical zoom. I say this because of the strange patterns that I see in the raw files. Over 95% of the time, I shoot in the raw format so I should not have any of the digital zoom artifacts present. The full optical zoom of the SX60 has image artifacts that look similar to the image artifacts on the SX50 using the 2x teleconverter.
I think the SX50 is a much better camera for the money that the SX60.

Thanks Harold, that is the kind of information I am looking for. The SX50 as a refurb has a good looking price.
I have observed, in looking at the the postings, that a lot of photos are taken with the SX50 and very few taken with the SX60. I am curious whether the SX60 does not have the performance of the previous SX50 model and therefore is not as popular. I am thinking about getting a 50 or 60 so I am asking for opinions. Thanks in advance for the help.
I found this site in a British photo magazine. It is a photo selling and buying site where you upload photos and set your price, usually about ten pounds. Has anyone used this site, heard of it, have opinions etc. Any information will be useful.

If you were teaching photography to a group of relative newbies, where would you begin?
Lets see how many different opinions we get.
When I taught basic photography for adult education, I began with asking if the students read their camera manual, do they know how to turn it on, how to change the battery, how to work the controls. how to install, remove and format the flash drive, etc. I found that most did not know how to perform those basic functions. Once that is well understood, we could move on to functions, ISO, aperture etc. and they could find these on their cameras as we discussed them in class and they also understood what the manual was trying to teach them. Hope this helps.
