Is the 40 mm pancake lens worth the money or would the 50 mm be a better investment? I am starting all over again from an old Minolta SLR 201 film camera/ I like the Canon over the Nikon. Did I make a good investment. I am disabled and hope I went the right way.

This is my first DSLR and I have a new Canon T5i. So far I love it. I wished I had the money to get the D70 Canon. I have shot a Minolta 201 SLR that I shot pictures for the Fredric News paper for several Years. The reason for quitting the paper is because at the time the police had no photographer so when there was a crime lick a suicid guess who got to shoot pictures of a man that had just put a shot gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. Yea it was me. I just couldn't do it anymore. I loved shooting, developing and printing the football games but the bad stuff was just overwhelming when coming to crime shots. I finally went to DSLR's. I hope it is everything I want out of a non film camera. I haven;t had it long enough to make a determination. Did I buy the right camera?
