The moon shot surprised the heck out of me too. what zoom power were you using? Do you have the info for the aperture, iso, & shutter speed for that shot? I knew I should have gone with my first instincts & bought that one. My moon shot looks pretty good till you get it up to a 5 by 7, then the sky starts looking speckled.

Could you please post some more pics taken with the Nikon P500? I had toyed with the idea of getting it at one time. I bought the CanonSX30is instead & returned it after two weeks because of noise. Am currently using Canon SX20is, but I might like to have more zoom. Send some more photos of distant objects using optical zoom 36x & maybe some using digital zoom. Thanks in advance

If I ever get the chance I will do just that (travel to parts of this great country of ours) and my camera will join me. I am toying with the idea of digiscoping, especially if it turns out to be less expensive than a high end dslr & 500mm. lens. Can't leave my 90 year old mother at this point in my life.

Thank you very much for the compliment. That was taken when I first got my camera & before I got up the nerve to take it out of auto mode. It is straight out of the camera except for a crop. It is a Canon SX20IS. Some day I might up-grade to a dslr but I still have a lot to learn on this one. Showed my mother the foxes. She loved them.

Whitch Canon Powershot do you have? I have the SX20IS with the Zoombrowzer Ex software included. Every time I think of up-grading I find out new things about this one. Always something more to learn. Over exposure is a bit of a problem, especially on bright sunny days. The good thing about brown or tan subjects is that they don't tend to bounce the sun back into your eyes like white does. If I use the manual mode & use a fast shutter speed it tends be less exposed; otherwize I just use my software & bring it down a few numbers. Your mare & babies look fine to me.

I cropped it on my camera software, Zoombrowzer EX. I could also have done it with Windows Photo Gallery. I don't have a paid program (can't afford it) I put out scrstch feed for my deer---well, I call them mine. I do enjoy seeing them. Enjoyed your photos. Hope to see more.

Those are great photos. The first one looks like one of mine in the face. I hope this posts. This is the third time trying.

If I could capture pics like that I would be so proud no one could stand to be around me. When you quit trying you start dying. Don't ever quit. Keep shooting!

Great shots! I just wish I could've taken a shot of a gray fox that used to visit at about dark each evening. It would eat with one of our cats from a styrafoam tray (proves that they don't eat cats) It was always a little too dark to get the shot. I am considering getting a Canon T3 with a 75-300 mm. lens that I found for a good deal. Hoping to get some better shots with less shutter lag. Yours are great!

Photography is as subjective as food: some people love Brussels Sprouts & others hate em.( I love em) I like what you did with the butterfly. It doesn't have to compete with a flower, which is usually the case. I don't recall seeing any pavement in nature but it is a good shot. Might want to crop a little to bring it closer to the eye level. Love the zen. Keep shooting & have fun with it!

Whatever you do DON'T delete that hummer! Maybe I'm just too much of a realist, but I live in a REAL world with REAL birds & such, so I like things to look real, not artsy. Your hummer fits that criteria perfectly. Only thing I don't care for is the black background for the butterfly.A little too dark for my tastes. Keep shooting & have fun! That's the important thing.

The only thing I would do differently is move the mare & her babies out from the weeds. The shot itself is very good!

I don't have PS or any other editing program; just the software that came with my camera. The pond I was at has a thick layer of alga & scum that reflects sunlight back on subject. Every pic I have taken there looks awful. I used a Canon SX20IS in manual mode & used various shutter speed, iso, & aperture. Going to try a different white balance but I think I'm going to have to drag the pond. Any suggestions?

Hi, I live in North Carolina & I've made the 5 mile hill trip to Ashville 3 times now. Don't care much for the uphill climb but the atmosphere is wonderful. I love the gas pumps & the mountains especially. The hummers could be a little sharper, but all in all they are very good. Amazing that the hummers are all eating together. All mine do is run each other off. Happy shooting. This is one of my little ones.
