I shot this midday. Any suggestions?
This is nice. Patience definitely plays into getting that great shot with animals. Keep at it...they'll get better. Keep on sharing. Thanks!
The only thing I would do differently is move the mare & her babies out from the weeds. The shot itself is very good!
Ya you're right. was trying to go for the "savannah" affect. My biggest problem has been lighting and how to deal with overexposure. My Canon Powershot has been kind to me.
Whitch Canon Powershot do you have? I have the SX20IS with the Zoombrowzer Ex software included. Every time I think of up-grading I find out new things about this one. Always something more to learn. Over exposure is a bit of a problem, especially on bright sunny days. The good thing about brown or tan subjects is that they don't tend to bounce the sun back into your eyes like white does. If I use the manual mode & use a fast shutter speed it tends be less exposed; otherwize I just use my software & bring it down a few numbers. Your mare & babies look fine to me.
I have the S5is Powershot. As far as the soft ware, I haven't been using any but am planning on installing photoshop here shortly. You are right about the faster ss. Thanks for your input...
