Isn't it "M"urano where the glass comes from??

You are right, the glass blowing is done on Murano.
Burano is sort of famous for its lace making.

Murano.

The only lens that I have went through micro adjustment is the 70-200, haven't had time to work other lens's. I have noticed a few advertisements for programs that do this and really wanting to find out what anyone else might have experienced with one (or more) of them. Appreciate any review's on one or all of these products.

Jim

Well, I bought FoCal Pro today. I have run my 100-400L and Sigma 300mm f2.8 through it so far including separate analyses with the tele-extenders attached. The Sigma 300mm plus the Canon 2x II extender balked a couple of times with communication errors but after wiggling the interfaces around it all worked OK. There were adjustments needed to both lenses and the extenders. Initial shots post-adjustment show improvement. I found it easy to use. My EOS 5DSR is similar to your 1DX MkII, Jim, in that the software is only semi-automatic requiring user input during the analysis but if you are familiar with the Micro-Adjustment menu which I guess you are having done a manual adjustment yourself then it will not be a problem for you. I have my two shorter zoom lenses still to do and I'll have a go at them tomorrow. Incidentally the programme allows adjustment for both the short and long end of zooms. Each lens took about 10-15 minutes to adjust.

Hope this helps Jim. Get back to me if you have any questions.

Victoria Brampton, "The Lightroom Queen" has a website: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/ There are some free downloads and I can recommend her paid-for eBook. She also runs a very comprehensive forum which is both technically competent and very friendly.

I am looking for a solution too Jim. So far I have seen good reports of FoCal http://www.reikan.co.uk/focalweb/ and I am asking around for alternatives.

For my Botswana trip in June/July this year I shall be taking a Fujifilm X-T2 with an X-T1 as a backup/second camera (both 1.5x crop) with Fujinon XF 10-24, 18-55, 55-200 and 100-400. All are IS and super lenses. I used a similar rig last year in Namibia and it worked very well.

It's a lovely place to visit and your first two photographs prove it, however I am not keen on no 3 the HDR effect is overdone in my opinion.

I think you are right John. I wondered if I should include #3. Thanks for your comments.

I don't know much about the Tamron offerings but I own both Sigma 150-600 models and the Canon 100-400L II and the 1.4 III teleconverter plus the Sigma 1401 teleconverter and Sigma 2.0 teleconverter.

My Sigma 150-600 Contemporary is fairly light and easy to use hand held. My Sigma 150-600 Sport is fairly heavy and depending on ones age and physical strength, may be difficult to use hand help, especially for any length of time.

My EF 100-400 with the 1.4 teleconverter is fairly light and quite easy to use hand held.

The area you are touring is fairly hot and dusty, not ideal conditions for the Sigma Contemporary model but not a concern for either the Canon or Sigma Sport lenses.

The way I see it, you are limited by the older out dated technology of your Camera body. If you are planning on leasing a lens maybe you should consider leasing a newer body as well and going with the EF 100-400L II and 1.4 III teleconverter, regardless of what anyone says, it is the better lens choice.

I love Venice but, whenever I visit, I always take a trip to the colourful island of Burano.
