I will take that cartoon to my physics class. I know it will make them either moan or laugh.
Thanks Jerry,
Bill
I can hardly believe I'm going to suggest this, but .... As I move from my 15 year usage of Photoshop, over to Affinity Photo, they have a cool tool with which you could remove the leaning tower.
I'm very fine with it being in there, but I thought I'd share the idea.
I look forward to your new submissions. And I'll check my DVD files for some of mine too.
John, I think you did a spectacular job.
I've thoroughly enjoyed doing HDR. I had a partner on here from Malaysia, but he went silent. I'd enjoy exchanging with all those who like HDR. I think you did a great job.
Bill
Fourlocks, you might like to look into Affinity Photo. It's still about $49, and then paid for. No subscription, and let me tell you it has so much power. I truly think Adobe needs to worry ... and I'm a Photoshop user since 2004. I'm in my learning curve for Affinity Photo. I think you might like it, and who can't like the price.
I always read all the articles that involve iMac, my favorite computer. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most upgrades of the OS involve conflict with CC?
So do we. Can't wait to go back.
Positive support. Positive. That is the only way to really motivate. I believed that from the very start, and practice that even today.
On the first day of class, I have them fill out a 3x5 with basic information. On the back side, for privacy sake, I ask two questions: What are your future career plans? and I hope to know you far better toward the end of the semester than today, the first day. That said, is there anything you'd like for me to know today?
Wow, it is eye opening, as you comment MrMophoto, what they have to tell me. And I'm so glad I ask that, which usually means I'll start a quiet conversation with them based on what they told me. Very eye-opening experience, and even for college students.
Yes. He was a sophomore in my geometry class, and then a senior in my physics class. And that was more than 30 years ago.
Let me add, from the student who gave me a stamper with B.S. on it, he is not the CEO of a movie company on the south coast. Yes, we stay in touch.
Move over teachers, I'm with you. I'm in my 52nd. year and still loving it. I have to admit, though, I'm not sure I could say that if I were still teaching high school students. I left that arena at the end of 30 years, but new I was not ready for the "fishing poll", so I looked over local universities. Lucky for me, five were looking for an adjunct physics teacher, and I picked the one guaranteeing a class never larger than 16 students. Sorry for the history, but I though you might wonder .... why year 31 to year 52?
That all said, what I was able to do in early high school years became unacceptable in my 20th. year. What? Just think Political Correctness. I'm in favor of it, but it sure kills a lot of "respectful fun" in the classroom. By year 28, I knew I had to move on. I did, and never looked back. On the college level, teaching is fun again. I can't toss erasures at my students, but I never did. And when I mentioned that I had a rubber stamper in my desk with letters B.S., they told me to ... use it. You certainly can do different things when teaching on the college level.
BTW, Traderjohn, is that pick Rome or Florence?
When teaching high school physics, one of my very bright students would occasionally write a response that really was fantasy. So he gave me a Christmas gift of a rubber stamper with two letters on it, B.S. And he invited me to use it on his future test anytime I felt his solution was ... truly B.S.
You have no idea how many times I've done that, over and over again.
And that was my trip from hell, photo drivers license for Real I.D. Attempted three times, denied all three times. Best kept secret, do no laminate your social security card. Real I.D.....denied, denied, denied.
I hope it might be okay with the System Operator for me to reflect on your DMV in CA. It's the same hell that our Missouri DMV resides, especially with Real I.D.
I'll stop here, for I think we've identified the source of the advertisement on UHH, and perhaps the System Operator already knows this, and if not, we've helped the SysOp to learn what goes on "behind his/her back", as it were. And thank you for permitting us to learn what drives the Ads on here.
