There has been some discussion on license wording and copyright ownership in relation to competitions and stock photo companies. The link below may help make clear some of the language used, as I feel it is probably relevant to both areas of photography.

Hi, I'm Malcolm and I live in Leicester in the UK. I found UHH by accident and have been reading the Forum now for nearly a month and I thought it was time to introduce myself, especially as I have beeb asking questions and making posts. This has to be one of the best site available, good advice, constructive criticism and some very amusing posts. Thank you. Just need to find how to get pictures out of iPhoto so I can post some.

I just Googled Canon lens calibration and came up with this video on YouTube where the guy is calibrating his EF 50 mm lens.

I have to say not for the feint hearted and not something I will be trying! I might try the micro-calibration using the custom functions, otherwise the lens goes back to Canon or a recognised repair agent.

jerryc41. Simply Electronics (SE) seem to have 2 web sites, one in £ and one in $. I have just looked at SE and Digital Rev (DR) and their prices in £ for the 7D were SE - £785 and DR £817, roughly $1250 and $1310. How does that compare to your prices?

Like you I am wary of buying from Hong Kong. Have you looked at the prices on Simply Electronics? (www.simplyelectronics.net). Their prices are considerably below other suppliers in the UK. Their invoices state that prices are inclusive of all taxes/duties, at least the ones I have do. I think they ship from Reading, Berks. Only drawback is that they can take a while to arrive, they say 4 -7 working days.

Thanks EstherP. Of course you are right, try before you buy. I thought I would get the views of some existing users before I tried them because I thought I might then be able to put them into some kind of order.

Like one or two other members I am not sure I want to spent over £600 on Photoshop CS6 (Adobe web site), although I can probably get it cheaper. I have been using the PP software that come with Apple iPhoto but went to move on. I am looking at Elements, Lightroom or Gimp. Gimp comes free but is one any better than the others? I have not yet tried any of them yet or are there better pp programs for beginners to use?
