I don't see the point of putting more equipment in my workspace especially redundant analog knobs and sliders but, to each his own. I wish these guys luck. Start ups are difficult and KickStarter is a great service available to help those willing to take the leap.

Photos, which replaces iPhoto and Aperture in Yosemite is the direction Mac OS is taking and will evolve and improve along with the system. As you are going to be using LR for your editing and cataloging needs you can ignore Photos completely. Just set up your preferences so that Photos doesn't attempt to import your photos when you insert your card. Yosemite has been trouble free for me on all four of the Macs working on my network.

I am a Mac user and have been one since 1985. I've designed, built, and used Mac networks in the publishing industry for most of my career. I totally agree with you, that Macs are far more secure than any other platform and for a very long time I believe that they have been immune to these sorts of attacks. However, as Macs have become more prominent in the computing world, they have also become more attractive to those who wish us users harm. I believe that is better to be safe than sorry, as you never know when you might click on a window, email, photo, message, or some other item in your daily doings that might be carrying, intentionally or not some bit of malicious code that will cause you annoyance at the least, or compromise of some or all of your personal data and maybe the loss of your data at the worst. I will not take that chance, no matter how small that chance might be. You have made your choice and I respect that but want all Hoggers who read this thread to know that there are ways to bolster the awesome security of the Mac platform so that there is even less that they need to worry about.

Guess you have not read my previous, most recent post, went to Apple, should have from the beginning as folks here could not help and it was not a big deal. Am assuming you are not a Mac user, it has been free of these kinds of things for me until now. I downloaded something that I was skeptical about and it bit me. Still think Mac is the safest operating system out there. I have never had any security software in all of the years I have had Macs. I agree with your post, only if you have a PC, Macs are not immune, but it is rare that there is a problem.

I suggest that everyone who uses a computer Mac or otherwise, and the internet. install robust security software that frequently scans your computer for malicious software and updates it's threat database multiple times daily. I use ESET. It's not expensive and does just what I suggested. I haven't had any issues with malicious software with this program running in the background. To answer your question; No I have never seen the warning you posted above and don't know how to fix your issue. However, you might try ESET and it quite possibly will locate the source of your problem and isolate (quarantine) the destructive, annoying little booger and finally bring you relief and peace of mind. And. It's quite possible that you will never have this issue, or any similar, again.

I have an i900 and have not been satisfied with the quality of the scans of my slides. Does this unit come with a slide tray and do you know if the scans are in focus (sharp) I understand that you haven't used it but thought you might know it's capabilities.
Thanks,
Bob

Hey Brent, I hope you don't mind my hijacking your thread but thought it would be the best way to share with you, my appreciation for your work and our appreciation for some of the same beautiful and inspiring photo locations in Southern California. Here are a couple of shots that I took back in '06.

I love this location Brent. I have some photos from a few years ago that I shot there. This one is outstanding. I will post one or two of those I shot if I can locate them in my archives.

Re: The snow shot. I took the same shot a few years back and a nearly identical shot ran on the front page of the Union Tribune. It was a great day for shooting the skyline and this view could only be shot from one place. There were many photographers out shooting beside me that day, at the Point Loma National Cemetery. The fire shot is spectacular. Which fire was that?

but they show the city under three different conditions.

I thought the title would tell the story. San Diego, shot from the hill community of La Playa on Point Loma.
