Religious concepts, including the concept of God, are by definition metaphysical, meaning that they are above and beyond what we can observe or measure or concretely verify. There is no way to prove their truth or untruth in the way we usually prove things with evidence. There is no amount of logical argument that can substitute for the absence of concrete evidence. So, it usually comes down to what we were taught by family and culture, or later on it may be a matter of choice, as to what to believe or not. There are a few religious concepts that I choose to believe, but at the same time In the realm of religious beliefs I suggest the we need to live with some degree of uncertainty like we do with rest of life.

Adam hid from God, Jacob wrestled with God, Moses wrestled with God, Isaiah hid from God, Solomon, David, Jeremiah, and the list goes on and on even with Jesus crying to God on the cross "My God, my God why have you forsaken me?". God is limited all the way through the Bible by his followers. Wow, what about Job and Jonah? Man, I struggle(d) with Him lot's of times. When I was a hospital chaplain I had a patient who had a heart attack and died in the arms of his daughter when they were dancing at her 17th birthday party. God and I went around that night for sure. Our first child died as an infant...God and I went around then. I'm am more concerned about Christians who do not struggle than those who do.

I read about a new preacher who just graduated seminary and interned in a small country church. When checked in with his mentor he was asked "Well how is everything going?" "Oh, it's going great", he said. "And everyone there really loves me. Looks like I'm doing everything right!" The mentor chimed in "Sorry to hear that!". The new preacher was aghast and asked why. "Well", said the mentor "it doesn't look like you pose enough threat to the Enemy for him to throw in some roadblocks."

God has very thick skin and is immensely patient but can be angered. Only you know your feeling toward God. None of us can judge that, though I'm sure some have tried. Anger seldom seems to hurt God as much as it hurts the believer.

God still doesn't get you out of that mess, your fellow marines did. How many called out to god and still died or got maimed. God didn't put you there that was down to politicians who gave you a nasty job to do. Did you really believe there was no need to worry that if you died you were going to heaven? My brother who is a former soldier calls it a job not just for the people he fought with but for the people he was fighting against. Which kind of helps when it comes to trying to stop the fella who was shooting at you 5 minutes ago from bleeding to death. I've never been on a battlefield, I have managed to get a mans hand free when it was trapped in a machine, him screaming his head off, while 50 people just stood and stared. I did what needed to be done and after felt the shock of the incident. Not the only time and some still haunt me. Even when you do everything right, you still replay it over and over...

I've been close to death before and Dr's and Nurses saved my life, a couple of times to be fair, i've had a steady diet of pills and injections ever since. I've also been fortunate to save 1 or 2 lives myself and sometimes failed too. Being in an Irish Hospital you tend to get a Priest coming round. I still remember my visit "Religion" said the Priest. "Not yet" said I, that was the end of his recruitment drive. I know a few Priests and Nuns and they are pretty nice people to work with. Not always the case historically.

I don't have a problem with anyone believing in a God if it helps it helps, what does annoy me are the hypocrites who profess a belief in God and then in their actions perform a complete 180...

I don't believe in God and if I professed a belief, I would be just as much a hypocrite as those that do and do so much evil in the world. That is not being ballsie thats just being true to myself.

He only included Christians because we (speaking for all Christians) profess to have a heart for, and want help those people. Too often we just sit back and do nothing but complain about why somebody else isn't helping. Or, even worse, throw money at the problem and don't truly care for their plight. I know, I am guilty at times (more than I like to admit).

Lots get a warm fuzzy feeling working at a soup kitchen during the holidays 'cause they are serving the poor. Many of those same people think nothing of passing a homeless person on the street in the summer time without stopping to offer help or even offer a kind word. Yes, I am as guilty as the people I am calling out ...

Just knowing right from wrong is never enough, it's doing something about it. I don't expect anyone to assist my choices. Gods free to do as he pleases with whoever really i'm just not in his fan club. God gives people cancer daily , blinds children with parasites, that god seems to be a real psychopath. You can argue god gives you free will but nobody chooses cancer. God seems pretty unreliable to be fair.

I read somewhere when Icelanders were asked what they believe in 98% said "themselves" and i'm with them. I don't need a nudge from God to figure out what to do. I don't always make the best choices, who does. If you look at the christian bible you see Jesus repeatedly gave examples of good choices to make, don't think he ever said let me get back to you on that one.

So really balls in your court, believer or not, you don't need a sign to do the right thing and neither do I. Have a good Christmas.

In the New York/Long Island area wedding photographers get $4000-$10,000 for a wedding, depending on what you want. If you want just photos taken, or if you want a wedding album.

While I have seen people get photographers for less money...you get what you pay for.

Having done a few weddings myself. It is exhausting, 10 + hours on your feet, then you first have to go home and process the images.

No....I think Adobe monthly fee is a rip. I would much rather have the option to choose...outright purchase or monthly.
Now that you mention Camera Company rip-offs,
Both Nikon and Canon use artificial price maintenance to keep pricing on their products at close to MSRP. Free market and the New York discounters work for us and not the camera companies. They could be competitive, but are terrified that Canon, Nikon, Sony, et al, will lose their orders.
This kind of artificial price maintenance has been promoted for the last decade and WE, the consumers, end up paying more! Arghhhh!
