Everyone has their own opinion and needs. I would not get a smaller SSD drive in fact I would at least double it and run it in Raid 0 especially since you are building a higher end machine. Why have an SSD and store the data on and old fashioned much slower platter drive and then get it delivered back to you by a drive that runs at half the speed. I don't see the logic. Platter drives are the old buggy whip. 48gb of memory is a lot but the new motherboards will accept 128gb and you may not need it now but the programs are getting bigger and the demand on memory will continue to increase. Bill gates once said I don't see why anyone would need more than 16MB of memory so much for that expert advice. It's cheaper to get as much as you can afford, even if it seems like overkill and then later upgrade it because you need more performance.

I would recommend 2 Evga 1080gtx running in SLI mode. I would be sure the monitors, and you will want two, has display port which is a faster interface than the older HDMI. The Video card may not make a difference unless you are using Adobe products because some editing software does not utilize the GPU. I guess you can always add more and why not move up to a Rysen Threadripper 1950x. You can't go wrong with more cores and it will be more future proof.

Premiere Pro. It has a learning curve, but there are plenty of books and video's. The end result is outstanding and it has a ton of special effects. I use a high end pc running windows 10 insider addition. I don't have the patients to wait on a Mac to render a 30 minute clip.

I have updated my bios many times and it normally takes about 15 minutes after you download the latest update From Asus. We are running at least 15 Asus mb Machines and have been for 5 plus years and not one of them ever updated the bios automatically. That includes several of the Asus High end Rampage boards. It seems you have something else going on there. If it's still doing it I would restart the computer you won't be any worse off it will either work or you may need a new MB.

You need to look up SSD Trim.

I can't believe the Acronis recommendation all those steps what a waste of time. If you buy a Samsung SSD it comes with a software disk that will transfer all your files. It's simple and accurate just get the "Star Tech 3.0 to 2.5 Sata 3 hard drive adapter cable on Amazon for around $10.00". It works really well and you don't have 10 steps. I have added no less than 20 SSD drives and I have NEVER had a problem. The SSD will definitely increase the overall performance of your computer and is by far the best upgrade you can do. As far as the Defrag they actually require what they call a trim which Windows 10 will handle nicely(Google it). If you can get a 1TB SSD.

Seems to be a good deal. Dell is probably clearing out all the non $k monitors. As far as the 32 in monitor goes I have dual 32in 4k dells and let me tell you they are outstanding. I have used Dell monitors for 20 plus years and I can't recall a ever having a product. Jump on that Cosco deal I'm sure they won't be around very long.

I'm sorry for the structure above. I obviously didn't read it before I hit the send button.

I just processed a 150mp image (a stitched pano comprised of 15 images from a 36mp camera), and I did not need to use my First Alert fire extinguisher to knock down the anticipated flames coming out of my 5 yr old computer.

(Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3 motherboard, i7-2600K clocked to 5 gHz), 32 gb ram, 1 TB SSD, 6 TB WD RE hard drives, NVidia Quadro K2000 graphics). Fast enough to deal with this size image without too much waiting time.

To answer your question - I don't really have an answer. When I hit the brick wall and the system freezes because of insufficient memory/processing power/storage, or the cpu gets fried, then I will have an answer for you.

That's amazing overclocking a 2600k to 5ghs and it still works. What are you using to cool the cpu? I bet you will be replacing it soon!!

I have the entire Adobe collection and I have the option to install the programs I want through the Adobe Creative Cloud. I don't use LightRoom so it's not installed. Adobe Camera Raw comes with Photoshop so it will update with PS. I had to reinstall other plugins I'm using in Photoshop and Dreamweaver. I believe you will have to do the same. That's the price for progress at least your subscription fee hasn't gone up. Good Luck.

If you want to see the latest and greatest Drive check out the Intel Optane 900p. It is expensive but if you have the hardware and the money it will leave everything else in the dust.

You should trim a SSD drive it's similar to defragging. In windows 10 explorer type defrag select it and select the drive. Click optimize and it will do the rest in under a minute.

It isn't mentioned on Creative Cloud. They're showing Photoshop CC 2017 and Lightroom CC 2015 as the current versions. When I did a search, Adobe responded, "Sorry, no results are available for that item."

I'm sure Scott Kelby is a beta tester for Adobe, and probably has an advance copy installed on his computer right now. Adobe provides well known trainers and training companies with beta versions so they can record videos and write training materials that will be available when the software is released.

It was in my Creative cloud yesterday and I'm not a beta tester. I had to update the cloud first. Good luck.
