I had the surgery in both eyes a year apart. Distance in my dominant eye and close up in my other eye. Works great. Same problem with photography as shooting a gun. One eye and you can see the sights, the other eye and you can see the target. I had small cataracts and didn't have to have it but I am glad I did. I have worn glasses or contacts for over 50 years and now I don't need either for distance or up close. I also had astigmatism corrected at an optional costs I paid out of pocket. As for expert medical advice, you will get that anyway. What you are asking is how it worked out for us POST surgery. I think asking people is a valid idea. Everybody is different so as long as you realize your results might not be the same then so what.

Very nice. I grew up on the Mississippi River and have been in Marine Insurance for the past 40 years. So I was speaking from experience. The good news is, I am retiring at the end of the year and picking back up the hobby that has sat mostly idle for the past 20 years.

Typically, boats under way do not run flat like a car. They run uphill pushing against the force of the water and its resistance. If you leveled the boat then the land would be tilted. BOats are only level in the water when they are stopped or at idle.

When I Googled J-RODS, all I got were shoes and cars. I would be interested if you can send a link.

In Genesis 1, it states that God created Heaven and earth. It says he did it because he was lonely. If so, why did God create these then wait billions of years before he got lonely? Talk about what you can see and touch, you can see and touch evolution. You cannot see and touch God, Heaven, Hell etc. All religions are based on faith not fact. There is no evidence of a Supreme Being but I am not an atheist. Nor am I a dis-believer of UFO's. What I believe is that all of these things may be true but show me some evidence like evolution shows there were animals fossilized millions and millions of years ago and there is not the same evidence for human existence at least as we know it today. We are much, much later in the evolutionary chain. I am not sure I went off topic here since the topic has become both random and comical one that I have enjoyed more than most recently. Just M.O.O.

jaywallace, I feel your pain. But I think Ralph is trying to make a point that these generic questions benefit no one but most of all, the responders make it much, much worse. By law, the person buying stolen merchandise is guiltier of a bigger crime then the person that steals it. Without the buyer, there would be no one to steal unless a thief stole only for themselves which we know is not true. IMO, the first person to respond should not offer advice but ask the questioner to be more specific so that they can get the advice they need not just what people that think they know what they are asking. Personally, the worse part of this forum is people replying to generic non-specific questions that neither help the person asking the question or anyone else that is interested in what the person may be asking. i.e "What's the best camera?" Capiche?

I think we should build a wall to keep these unidentified Aliens out, I mean, how much could it cost anyway?

Well I guess there are thrifty people and there are cheapskates. Even on a fixed income I wouldn't trust my once-in-a-lifetime shot potential to a $25.00 battery. Rave on... BTW, I don't have a problem with cheap back-up batteries or saving money but the logic of using ONLY cheap batteries actually defies logic.

Seriously? You think spending 25 bucks on a used camera battery is spending your money wisely? Would you call spending $100 bucks on a "used" parachute spending wisely. Granted not a fair comparison but the battery is what makes the camera work. It really doesn't matter if it is a $100 camera or a $10,000 camera saving 25 bucks just does not make sense.

Just curious, then why didn't you leave? I used to live in Florida and there is no way I would even stay in Orlando during a Class V

Let me get this straight. You bought a $2,000 camera and you are going to cheap-out on a $25.00 battery? Why are any of you responding to this?

As I read these posts and other posts I am reminded of something I was taught in grade school, a quote by Mark Twain I believe. To paraphrase, "its better to be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." (Not directed at anyone in particular, BTW)

I wonder how many of the Naysayers are Nikon users? It seems like, on this website, people never tire of beating up either Canon or Nikon whenever they get the chance. Consider the source...always!
