Some outstanding sunsets, all! Here’s one from the hotel window on our recent trip to Tucson.

I think there is too much background, so the birds don’t show up as well as they could. Try cropping in on the left quite a bit, then cropping in some on the right side. Then, brighten up the scene. Finally, add a soft, not too dark, vignette. Then, you can see if you have too many birds or not.

Totally awesome photo! Love the colors, love the sharpness, love the vignette. Great job! My suggestion would be to, yes, once again, to brighten up the subject a bit so he really pops out from the darker background. Keep shootin’.

Absolutely gorgeous! Love the silloueted branches and leaves. I might have tried opening up shadows a bit, and I likely would have been wrong!

Very nice! I recommend opening up the shadows a bit, as it seems too dark. I like the background, too.

My preference is #3 for the rich colors and the terrific curved lines that lead our eye directly to the peek-a-boo mountain. Great contrast between the darker tones of foreground and the white of the clouds + I like the contrast of hard vs. soft, as well.

I find #1 uninteresting in comparison - mostly it's the blandness of the left side compared to the colors and shapes on the right. But the wide view does give us a nice documentary of the landscape. In #2 the weakness is in the foreground IMO - just not much there + an awkward cut of the closest rocks.

I do wish when people offered feedback in topics like this, they'd give the reasons for their choices. Kind of worthless to the OP (and all of us who are interested in seeing an image through someone else's eyes) to just tally yea's and nay's.

I’m with Linda here. I like 2 and 3 best. If only the camera was aimed a little lower on 2, we could see those rocks. Frankly, a little more post would really make these pop.

Some nice renderings, all. Here is a cactus, before, after and after.

The question comes up every full moon on UHH Your moon was over-exposed. When it's dark outside it's hard to think about making a darker exposure (I kept trying to make mine lighter 'til UHH showed me the way five years ago). Google will give you lots of articles and tips and some settings to try, as will everyone who replies in this topic.

Personally, I prefer shooting the full moon near the horizon, just before sunrise or right around sunset so that the exposure shows the landscape too. Unfortunately, sometimes they can look "photoshopped" when just stuck in the sky like that

Five minutes after sunset, f/11, 1/13 sec, ISO 100 (with tripod).

These shots are absolutely amazing! After seeing these, I don’t see how anyone could complain about post processing. It’s vital to bring out the best in any photo, and you did an outstanding job!
