Actually, Best Buy has started carrying high end camera equipment at some locations and is matching competitive pricing if their pricing is not already low enough. I just went to one the other day and played with several higher end cameras including a Nikon D500, Sony A9, A7R II, A6500, Canon 5D IV, 80D, Panasonic GH5 & GX85. They had several other brands and models in stock as well. In my area, they were the only company that had all the models I wanted to look at in stock. They also had a large lens selection for all the major brands as well.

Davinci Resolve v14
Adobe Premiere v5.5

I like both and they both do things well that the other does not do at all or do well.

I would recommend you look at a used Nikon D7100 or D7200 over the D3400 for photography. It will give you a lot more options, including greater lens selection.

I purchased a Nikon D5500 when I decided to get into digital photography and it takes excellent pictures. However, I ran into a few issues that you may or may not find a problem.

First, I have found a need to shoot video and Nikon cameras in general are not very good at video. If you want to use your camera for video, then I would look at Canon, Sony or Panasonic.

Second, Nikon's 3000 and 5000 lines of camera do not allow for fine tuning of auto-focus and I have two lenses that are always soft unless I manually focus them.

Third, I do a fair amount of outdoor shooting with flash and continually run into issues with the camera not having high speed sync. (some can be fixed with an ND filter, but not all)

After reading your posts here and the other thread, I will try to answer without referencing scripture quotes. However, after being a Cristian for many years, the Word has become a part of me and parts of what I say will be linked to the scripture.

As many have stated, becoming a Christian is simply recognizing and accepting Jesus as the son of God and the gift of salvation through His sacrifice on the cross. This is both simple and complex at the same time. The simplicity is the fact that we do not have to do anything to receive this gift other that make a decision. The complexity comes from the responsibly that comes from accepting this gift.

The scriptures make it clear that we are to endeavor to become like Christ and that there is a "cost" to becoming a Christian. The cost is dying to our self will and allowing God to be Lord of our lives. Since God's will is different for everyone, this means something different to each one of us. Not only that, it also means different things at different times of our lives.

There is no such thing as a perfect Christian other that Christ Himself. For the rest of us, it is a life long process of improvement. I will not get into the "once saved always saved" debate, but will say that the scriptures give us many warnings about turning away from God or becoming stagnant and not continuing to become more like Christ every day.

What does all this mean to me? I have found that being a Christian is more than accepting salvation and following the rules. It is about a relationship with God. That was the real purpose of Jesus dying on the cross. It was to restore the relationship between man and God. God created mankind to fellowship with Him. Sin separated us from Him and the blood of Jesus is able to wash us clean of that sin. When I came to this realization, my whole life changed. Before I came to this understanding. I was confused and sometimes even angry when I (or others) failed in some way. Now I understand that the goal is relationship and that our failures are because we are just young children, learning to do better as we grow up.

For me, prayer is not just asking God for things, it is a conversation where I talk with God and He talks with me. He speaks through His Word, He speaks as that "still small voice" in my innermost being, and He speaks through others. It takes time and training to hear His voice and to be sure you are hearing His voice and not your own voice, the voice of satan or someone else's voice. This comes from studying the Word, meditating on the Word, and being mentored by someone/others more mature in the faith.

He has become by best friend. This, more than anything, has enabled me to become more like Him. We all become more like the people we are friends with and hang out with. My relationship with God has enabled me to see others more like the way He see them and develop true compassion for the people around me.

As for what type of Christian I am. I am whatever "type" of Christian God needs me to be. After all, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I am his servant and am His friend. I serve others and I lead others. I help others and they help me. In everything I do, I try to do my best and to do it with love. I try to point others toward God and to shine the light of Christ though living my life in a way that is acceptable and pleasing to Him.

For reference I am currently employed in construction and I am both an elder and the Media Director (volunteer) at my church. My wife and I also lead classes on discipleship and home group training at our church. Additionally, we also support our community in various ways. Going out into the world sometimes just means volunteeering to help at the local homeless shelter or helping with a comunity event such as a parade or festival. It is amazing how good it feels to help others, no matter what the circumstances.

$200,000 is not enough money. They can make a lot more money by hacking the phones or selling the code to other people. The US had to pay millions to get hackers to give them the code to hack an iPhone and the US did not give Apple the code to enable them to block it, which means the hackers and the US can still use the code. If a hacker gave the code to Google, Google would change the code and the hackers ability to hack android phones using that code would be gone.

I recently Purchased a used Tokina 11-16 2.8 and am very happy with it. Fast focus, good IQ, easy to use manual focus ring...

I did a lot of research before buying and almost all review comparisons gave the Tokina the win against all the competition in that zoom range for Nikons.

The recovery partition and the small unallocated section at the end are normal today. The unallocated space happens because the system requires space in chunks of a certain size and the disk had an uneven amount. The system partition is also seen on some brands of computers. They are used by the operating system and are normally hidden in standard file explorer.

The other partition is only 16 MB total and are not worth the effort to "recover" the space.

Welcome to the hog! Hope you like your Tamron better than I do.

Other than some lower light focusing issues, the lens has done well for me. It is really nice not having to constantly switch lenses when trying to take photos at different distances. I used to have multiple lenses to cover 24-250mm with my old cameras.

I have since purchased a 35mm f1.8g Nikon lens and at 35 mm the two are not that far apart image quality wise. The biggest differences are in the low light area: lower f stop and faster/better focusing.

Last early spring I replaced my ancient Canon film camera with a Nikon D5500 and a Tamron 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD. Together, used, they were under $1,000. It is a very nice and versatile combination for the money.

I have friends that use Canon T5i and T6i with similar lens setups that are happy as well. Those would also come in under $1,000 used.

I signed up for the digest several months ago and have been regularly reading since.

About the same time, I purchased a Nikon D5500 and a Tamron 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD to replace my ancient Canon film setup.

Hoping to get more involved.
