Conspiracy theories, anyone? No thanks.

Easy to make and very good indeed. We often made it with a bit of freshly chopped celery included and some home made mayonnaise on the side. You can use fresh tomatoes or tomato juice and add gelatin, salt and pepper, lemon juice, perhaps a bit of Worcestershire and chopped celery and/or parsley. Bring to a boil and pour into a mold to chill in the fridge.
That's how my mom made it, and, even as a kid, I liked it. Might have to try making it myself.
Wait until peak leaf season, 2nd week of October, and then include the Pumpkinfest in Damariscotta.
Probably in the "Terms and Conditions" I don't read, just check the box.
Try quardle! I do both it and wordle, nice way to wake up the mind in the morning.

What does a lens have to do with it? All transactions involved a goat.
Think of it as a different goat, if that makes more sense to you. It doesn't matter what the things bought and sold are, just that there are two transactions, $10 profit on each.
I thought that buying and selling a lens might put a little photography humor into the analysis.

I have $60 in my wallet. I spend that $60 for a goat. I sell the goat for $70 - I've made $10. Then I buy the goat back for $80 (I had to dip into my savings for extra $10) So I am down $10, negating the $10 gain I made on the first sale. I then sell the goat again for $90. I recovered the $10 I lost on the second sale, so I have made only $10 on the series of transactions. I have invested $80 in the goat and got only $90 for it.

What if you bought a goat for $60, sold it for $70=$10 profit
Then you bought a lens for $80, sold it for $90=$10 profit
Total profit, $20.

Then why do we keep reelecting the same people year after year?
Hate to say this but there's a man among our midst that's been in politics for 47 years without any real accomplishments. And we rewarded him with the presidency.
Nothing will change until we the electorate smarten up.
Only the shareholders vote for the corporate boards who reward the CEOs and enrich the shareholders. Gas prices today are due only to corporate decisions to raise prices, "because they can." Record profits are not due to government action.
$3.69 here. Less than half of what it is in Europe, less than what it has been at times in the last ten years, adjusted for inflation. Electing different government officials won't help, unless there are enough votes for price controls.
I really don't mind that they use the term. It means, to me, that the storm is going to be more intense because of the deep drop in atmospheric pressure. Hurricane seems more descriptive and useful as a warning than "it's going to be a little windy."
I don't like getting up at 2 am to change the clocks.
One of our favorite internet channels is MHz Networks. It is an American public broadcaster that specializes in international television programming. We watch with the subtitles on, as most shows are in another language. It's surprising, though, how much English is spoken, especially when people from two different countries with different languages, converse. English is their common denominator. Most of the songs on these shows are in English, too.
This network has shows from many countries, many crime and cop shows, Scandinavian noir....They offer a free trial. We have subscribed for years.

1. That older generation that did all that suffering invented much of that stuff including the plastic bags.

To be honest, most of us oldsters simply appreciate all those things. Some may believe nostalgically those self-sacrificing efforts made us somehow some kind of heroically better. Most of us simply appreciate that those youngsters are around and see them working the best they can in a world they did not invent and hopefully will work at making the world better than what the older generation attained.

Thanks for this! You have hit the nail on the head. The younger generation was raised by the generation before them, and so on back in time. They are the result of their upbringing.
