In my case a very long time from when I bought my Canon 60D until today when I didn't notice it hit the floor and my year old chewing machine found it first. I have included iPhone photos of the module and the chewing machine. Now I know what SanDisk puts inside them. Fortunately I had just downloaded it to my Mac so I can put a non-chewed memory back in the camera and be little more careful where I put it in the future.

Anyone who ever had an American History class in grade school would think so but they called the statue "Dignity" if I remember right.

On I-90 in South Dakota there is a rest stop on the bluff East of were the highway crosses Missouri River. (The Lewis and Clark rest stop) They built a nice little statue of a native American woman there. The base she is standing on is at least two or three feet above the ground. Worth the time to stop to see it.

Thank you all so much! I have a Mac (running Safari). I should have stated that in the original post. I'll check through all your suggestions and see what works. Again, thanks for sharing your knowledge!

On my Mac I click the download link to get the full image on the screen. Then I drag the image to my desktop and double click it to open the image in "Preview". Finally I hit "Command I" to get info on the photo. Click on the various tabs at the top of the info window to see all the data stored in the photo.

With all of the hype over the solar eclipse on Monday, has anybody noticed that Monday is also a New Moon. I wonder how often that happens. Solar eclipse and Milky Way shots in the same day!!!

An eclipse always occurs during a new moon.

I am an old fart, too. But, I love digital photography. I try hard to get things right in camera but I am so glad that I can make things better with post processing. My old eyes fail me at times so the ability to get it right with aid of software is a good thing for me.

Me three!

blue-ultra yes sir! I shot and developed many rolls. I even bought 100foot rolls so I could roll my own to save a few bucks.
Thank you for looking and commenting. Dane004

I think there is still part of a 100 foot roll of Tri-X in the bulk loader my dusty basement darkroom. I haven't touched film or developer for at least a dozen years.

I always like the old saying that says the value of a collectable is whatever you can find some fool willing to pay for it. ;-)

This fellow was across the pond from me. He didn't like me looking at him but he finished lunch before taking off.

I know what you mean. I live next to Galesburg, IL with tracks leaving town in seven directions and 150 trains per day in and out of the BNSF hump yards. Mostly I try to avoid trains by knowing where all the bridges and underpasses are located. ;-)

Nice photo.

Nice. That looks like a sturdy bridge.

It better be a sturdy bridge. Think of how much a locomotive alone weighs then multiply by three or four!

...and I like the reflection too.

I just read that the best solar panels are aprx 22% effective. If we can develope panels that are 2,3 or 4 times that and a simple, safe way to store power for night etc then I might consider solar. As it is with the shape of the roof of my house even the solar people told me I didn't have enough room to install a full array.

Sunlight provides about 1000 watts per square yard. According to my back of the envelope calculations, 22% translates to around 200 watts per square yard of collector. That is around a Kilowatt Hour per day per square yard of collector. That's not too bad. How many KWh do you use per day? Storing it for evening and night time use is the biggest problem.
