I bought a FTZ adapter for my Nikon Z which works with all my lenses except My Nikon DX AF-S lense which I posted this morning about.
Well now I put the lense back on my DLSR and all I get is a black view.
What did I do and can it be fixed?.

Wow - this is much different than your 2nd post - thanks for clearing up the info on the adapter

I have the FTZ for my Z6ii and have not had a problem with any of my Sigma or Nikon lenses. Do you get any indication on the camera display that the lens has stopped down to the smallest aperture? If the FTZ is working with all of your other glass it might be that the lens is not communicating to the camera properly. Have you tried that lens recently on a Nikon body that doesn't require the adapater?

Check out page 492 in the Z6ii/Z7ii reference manual - the topic is USB Power Delivery. Using the USB-C connector it is possible to both power the Z6 and to charge the EN-EL15c battery in camera using an external power bank, or another USB-C power source. There are also several Youtube videos on the subject; here's one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sg9WjhWulGs

I have tried this technique and it works just fine. For extended shooting sessions, still or video, in the field, this is a low-cost solution to powering the camera.

I've had my Z6ii for about 6 weeks. I'm using the original EN-EL15c battery that came with it as well as an older EL-EN15 that came with my D7200 and some 3rd party batteries. All are performing well and I'm not disappointed with battery life. I have a Nikon GP-1 GPS unit that I use on all my Nikons and it does use more power. Make sure that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are off and I highly recommend Steve Perry's video with tips on conserving battery life

I especially love the shot from the open car...I can almost hear "the rumble and the roar of the Kennicott Cannonball"

There's lots of good info on the web regarding LR backups. I have LR set to backup each time I exit the application. How many backups you keep is up to you. Remember that it is the catalog that LR backs up. Image files must be backed up separately. It also looks like you're backing up other LR files which may not be helpful if you restore and use the wrong file (I'm referring to the folders that have "Catalog" in the name.) I'll be interested to see other comments to your question.

It would be very convenient if it was possible to charge Nikon batteries while driving; is there a device to do this approved or sold by Nikon? Plug into the power outlet in my vehicle and charge on the go???

You didn't mention which Nikon battery you want to charge. Follow the link below to Amazon. I've had one since 2016 that I use with my D7200 and it works great.

I noticed that too. The only thing I can think of is the US market and the like is bigger than the UK market and the like worldwide so they build both depending on where they are going. Based on the comments I've received so far, if I'm wrong, someone will offer the real reason why the steering wheels are on the left.

I don't think you're wrong - my comment was made with "tongue in cheek" - really love the series. Cheers!

I think you mean 1.60. Mine updated without any issues. I'm a little disappointed that the update didn't include anything for the autofocus system. May have to wait for the rumored Z6iii.

This from the update site:

• Made the following additions to the [CUSTOM SETTING MENU]:
- Added [Always] and [Only when flash is not used] options for Custom Setting d9 [Apply settings to live view] > [On].
- Added d10 [Warm display colors]
- Added d11 [Image frame]
- Added g7 [Red REC frame indicator]
• Added [Finder display size (photo Lv)] to the [SETUP MENU].
• The [Prioritize viewfinder] monitor mode has been replaced by [Prioritize viewfinder (1)] and [Prioritize viewfinder (2)].
• Fixed the following issues:
- A drop in brightness sometimes occurred in part of photographs taken using a flash.
- In some cases, the OK button could not be used to interrupt the interval-timer or focus shift photography when the viewfinder was used.
- Focus could still be adjusted using the focus ring when [Disable] was selected for [Manual focus ring in AF mode] in the [CUSTOM SETTING MENU] if an option other than [Non-linear] was chosen for [Focus ring rotation range] in the [CUSTOM SETTING MENU].
I think you mean 1.60. Mine updated without any is... (show quote)

!.6 is the z6ii update and it is live on the Nikon site. Updated mine last evening and it appears as if the features are identical to those you have listed above to the Z6.

Beautiful cars and pix thereof in spite of AF OFF...LOL. But, if they're really British cars, why are the steering wheels all on the wrong side of the vehicles?
