Detained them for months and months in detention centers....adjudication of their requests should take only days, not months. Now I agree, if they want to stay together, then create family jails.

Here's the deal: if they are entering, requesting asylum, either accept them or reject them. Arresting those who aren't accepted and then separating families... that's what is disgusting. Just turn back those you don't accept. Simple.

Repeating your statements doesn't make them any more true than the first time. You need to ad links to real facts that can be verified.

I had the same problem for a long time, until I got a camera that "remembered" the previous roll's shot count. I could pull out a roll, shoot another roll, and then put the previously partially shot roll back in. It would automatically set up for the next shot.

I don't know for sure but I think that there was only one camera that did this...

I use Manual nearly all of the time, especially with landscapes, because I have the luxury of reviewing the results and time to decide which variable to change.

But under most circumstances it's not the light that changes. It's the reflective properties of the subject. I can still get away with Manual by avoiding blown highlights and recovering shadow information in post processing. An incident reading or even Sunny 16 is more reliable than the camera's meter.

The problem with P and all other forms of Auto is that they all rely on the camera's meter...

And on the technicians and engineers who programmed the setting. Sometimes, it works well; sometimes, the situation doesn't fall within the parameters of their 'photographic vision.'

Myself, I mostly work in aperture-priority mode, sometimes in manual mode (say, landscape stuff), and sometimes in Program mode.

I just try to use what fits the occasion.

I'm so old, I remember when a "good" portrait lens had a softness to it... for example, a 7-inch Wollensak lens (complete with 1930s brass tube) on an Eastman Kodak 11x14 studio view (with 2-1/4 by 3-1/4 back) produced that effect. How can a good portrait lens show every pore on your subject's face?

Just tossing this out there for fun.

A SciFi classic, and the special effects are remarkable for the time (with no computer assistance). Kubrick’s masterpiece. It is slow-paced, but so are many other great movies. It helps to read Arthur C. Clark’s book if you want to understand the ending. I grew up reading the great SciFi writers - Robert Heinlein, Arthur C. Clarke, Jack Vance, Ray Bradbury, and the good doctor Asimov, H.P. Lovecraft, Fredrick Pohl, and Clifford Simak just to name a few...

Although I'm not an Olympus owner, I was shocked and surprised at your "tirade."

Sure glad I read a bit further. Nearly got me.

For me, it depends on what I'm shooting... occ. chimp, but not often.

I ALWAYS look over my shots. How else am I going to improve?

Don't know where you heard that but it must have been about some other vendor. Adorama has some of the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE, bar none, both in my own personal experiences and from what I read on here. Adorama is in MY list of the VERY BEST retailers! (Now, I'n neither employed by them or a family member, just a long standing customer!)

Amen, and in complete agreement.

Focus peaking is superior to any of the other aids for manual focus on any of the dslr's. Believe it or not, this was taken with a 55-230 lens with no VR, manual focus using focus peaking. Only folks who have tried to shoot hummingbirds will understand how much of a feat this was!

Amen!
