My Olympus camera is awful.
The chip is pathetically small.
The files are tiny.
There is too much shutter lag.
It takes forever to start up.
The IQ is pathetic.
Write time is glacial.
ISO = sucks.
Anybody who says the IQ from this format is on the par of APS-C or FF is a moron.
By far this camera is the worst that I own. Even worse than my phone. There - got it off my chest. Thanks for listening.
Please ID the Olympus body you are using.

Nice tirade. Feel better?
Okay you got me on that one. Boy can I get sucked in easy. I was going to ask if you hadn't tried one out or read any reviews before you bought it. You are my kind of guy Steve. I love a good harmless practical joke.

My very first digital SLR was an Olympus C2500L that I bought in 2000 when I traded from a Nikon F-301. Although merely 2.5mp the camera was capable of producing some great images which i still enjoy. I used this camrea for about 6 years before heading back to Nikon. Prsemtly I shoot with a D810 and an Olympus E-M1 and both are terrific.
I have a C8080 wide zoom, and it's not any better. But a year ago I bought an EM1 Mark ll, now we're talking first class.
Outstanding! Such a shame a company that been making photo equipment over 100 years hasn’t been able to learn a darn thing. Sad.

Nice review. Where can I get a deal on one of these?
Well, I hope you feel better! Technology has changed a lot between 2003 and now and to begin with we do not see p&s cameras like we did in the past.
Modern Olympus cameras are fantastic tools. The Olympus EM-1 Mk II is among the best mirrorless cameras made. The optics are of excellent quality.
Trash what you have and get a more modern camera.
Isn't that the same camera that used an odd-ball memory card that shared the technology with Singer sewing machines?
Just checked my calendar and sure enough, it says April 1.

...but it runs circles around my 3.3 mp 3030 from 2000....

Hopefully this was meant as a joke...that said it would have been nice for you to post the camera in the original post, not in a separate post. The issue is that a lot of members here don’t read all the following posts and could accidentally take this post semi-serious. The sad thing is, it’s probably not the camera, but rather the button pusher. I’ve got some great images from a Kodak digital point and shoot built back in 2000.

My first digital slr was the Olympus c3020, purchased in 2003 or 2004, can’t remember. Was light in weight but used those floppy memory cards which weren’t so easy to find. But the image quality? Superb in my opinion. That camera pushed me to look at dslrs and I bought my first Nikon d40 some years later. It was an eye opener for me as I was reluctant to go back to slrs because of the weight I remember from my old Nikon f with FTN finder. Was glad I did.
