Got one in Excellent condition for a tad over 600 from Adorama. I'll be happy.
Thanks for the advise, but Photoshop is terrain I have trod yet - but I do LR and love it. I've resolved to get a used/refurbed RX100 iii to eliminate my low light problems.
I wanted a decent pocket camera in the $500 region to carry in situations where my heavy gear is inconvenient. I thought the SONY HX90V would be the answer but it fails miserably in low light. It's t's got a nice EVF, good zoom (30x) and takes pretty qood images in daylight but it's unsatisfactory in every low light situation, outside or inside (even with lights). The flash does little to improve its performance. I'm now leaning toward the Nikon P900 which will probably get passing grades in every category but size - it isn't a pocket camera. Any suggestions for a small camera that meets my criteria without approaching the $1K region (e.g. the RX100 series) would be appreciated.
I purchased this Sony pocket camera because of its size, EO popup viewfinder and 30x zoom. I love all those features and the IQ is good too, so it's an ideal camera to walk around with when circumstances aren't right for my heavier gear. That said, frequently when shooting people, particularly closeup and medium distance shots, I'm getting distortion/stretching at the edges. I've been unable to find references to this problem online so I wonder whether anyone monitoring UH has this camera and experiences the same problem. The attached image demonstrates what my problem is. Both men are distorted.
It'll be fine. I dropped one in a cup of coffee last year then used a hair dryer on it. It's still working great.
Planning a trip to Monument Valley (2-day stay) 25-27 November. Does anyone know what the quality of sunrises and sunsets are generally during that time frame?
Great shots. I'll be there 14-15 May with my D7200 and various lenses, to include (as strongly recommended by UHHgers) my 200-500mm.
Yes, I will be checking with the park service on road conditions before going to the park.
Are the main roads in Yosemite dirt, gravel or paved?
Excellent, Marc. Thanks for that.
Lodging is available in at least El Portal, Midpines, Mariposa and Visalia.
Excellent input. Many thanks, Gene.
