Washer and dryer! I'll test it out tomorrow and let you know the results. Meanwhile any guesses,
is it trash and if not, would you trust it? The good news is there were not any pics on it.

Plug it in and see if it is readable. I've washed USB drives before without issue.

Check it closrly to make sure the two sides have not separated. Set it on a sunny windowsill for a few days and plug it in.
If it has separated just throw it away.

I think it will be fine, surprisingly it is about the most 'bullet proof' storage media of all as it has no moving parts. I have seen documentaries of cameras recovered from Air Crash Investigations and the CD cards were fine, retrieved from significant time in the sea. That's why I do long term storage with them they are now very cheap and a much better medium than CD's. Be interested to know how you go with it.

In some circles, money laubering is a preferred activity. Not so sure card laundering will really ever catch on!
Is this something you do often are are you just starting out??!!

I worked in electronic manufacturing for over twenty years. We would wash are boards in water, as we used water soluble flux. The only issue I see is drying out the electronics. We used an air nozzle.

Cool (although that depends on the cycle chosen) !
The missing part is whether you got the composition you wanted in the dryer: do you have in-card stabilization ? I've done this loads of time, the spin speed sometimes causes me some blur of the image.

Seriously though, like the others who have spouted on this topic before me, you (and your card) will be fine.

I've put thumb drives thru the wash and they have worked fine afterwards. I still don't recommend it.

There's a very good chance it could work, and work forever. However if it were me I would not want to risk any photographs that are important to me on a card that may or may not fail at any moment. Of course that could happen with a new card as well, but I think one that has gone through the washing machine is just a wee bit more stressed out. Many people do take the attitude that if it works, it works, so why spend the money for a new card, My attitude is, just because it works when it dries out doesn't mean it hasn't been damaged in some way and could fail at the exact wrong moment.

It's probably okay. They cover the IC and bonding wires with a dot of epoxy type material to seal them.

You know that washing pictures of individuals in compromising positions or various stage of undress will not make them any less dirty.

Please post samples!

It'll be fine. I dropped one in a cup of coffee last year then used a hair dryer on it. It's still working great.
