Nice shots may have to go there.
Unfortunately it was a two day wonder. It hung around most of the day on July 6 and then was seen for a short time on July 9, but hasn’t been seen since.
These pictures would not be all that surprising, if they had been taken in Florida, but they were taken by a pond in Orrville, Ohio. This is only the second limpkin ever seen in Ohio with the first showing up three days earlier at Mentor Marsh.
A couple of nights ago, I was at a local pond watching and trying to photograph barn swallows skimming and catching bugs, when this pair of kingfishers flew in and started "playing" in the water. If you look closely in the second one, you can see the head of one just about to come out of the water as the other flies over the splash.
Both are white-breasted nuthatches.

Beautiful photos. Must be very difficult to get photos like these, especially hand held
Jim
Actually, Jim, I use a Nest gimbal head on a Manfrotto tripod to get these. I do shoot some handheld if the eagle is in tree nearby.

In my opinion the juvenile ones are not worth photographing.
The first two pictures with adult birds are really good and the last one is interesting ornithologically but less from a photographing view point.
It was something new to see the bald eagles catching cat fish.
What lens and camera did you use?
I use a Nikon D7200 with the Nikkor 200-500 lens.
Nice, Jack!! Well done! It certainly is a fun place to visit.

My wife and I went to the Conowingo Dam last week. The eagles were far on the other side of the river most of the time. Here are a few pictures when they came closer from two different days.
Cape Coral Library is an easy, quick way to see burrowing owls although they can be seen in other places in Cape Coral.
By the way, we stayed at a Hampton Inn in Aberdeen that was only 20 minutes away. There are other hotel chains in the area as well.
We were there yesterday and got there at 5:00 just after they opened the gate to the parking lot. Yes there were eagles, probably 2 dozen ar least, but for the most part they stayed on the opposite shore. There were some good fly overs and one did fish nearer to us, but it was not as good as previous visits. Talking to people that come to the dam often, we were told that it hasn’t been as good as previous years and they theorize that it is because the water level is so high. The viewing deck has been closed because of the high water and the gates were constantly open yesterday. There are still good areas along the ridge by the river, but some areas have trees to try to avoid. It was still fun, but not as productive as previous visits in other years.
I always like seeing short eared owls especially in flight. Nice job and thanks for sharing. I am still waiting for them to show up at our local patch. They are one of my favorite bird to photograph as well.
